Need ideas for travel journalFeb 8, 2010 9:40:49 PM
I bought my ticket yesterday and will be traveling to China at the end of March. Woohoo! I want to make some sort of a travel journal or mini-album to take along and fill out or add stuff as I go. Any ideas?

Hi Tran,Just a couple things that came to mind is a small journal with pockets to put tickets, reciepts, etc. in. I personally love the goodies/embellishments you can buy in China so might wait to deck it out with all the cute stickers, decorative tape etc. Oh how fun! Have a great trip! What a FABULOUS trip! One thing I would do in whatever kind of travel journal you make up...have several sections for the "major tourist atrtractions" where you get a picture cut out from the travel brochure...also you might want to keep a postcard sized slot to put a postcard on the front of that section...as we all know sometimes our own pics do not come out as perfect as the postcards. I always buy a postcard from any major tourist site I visit, to supplement my own pics. Also, save stuff like your airline tickert and where it shows how much you paid for the ticket.

I agree with Cheryl, something with pockets to tuck in all the treasures. You could make an envelope book and add journaling pages between the envelopes. Enjoy your trip! _____________________________ aspromised |

Tran, I travel a lot and I usually just buy one of those plain 10X10 spiral albums in the craft section at Walmart. They have nice white pages for journaling, and I just add pictures and brochures etc. on a daily basis as I journal. Take some quart and gallon size plastic bags to put goodies that you collect. Don't forget a tape runner or other adhesive, and a small pair of scissors. Happy travels! _____________________________ Proudly Nifty 50 - CFD Trainer - Fiskateer #1166 |

What about getting a composition notebook and decorating the outside of the book to fit your travels. You can add a pocket to either the inside of the front or back cover. This way you could record all of your planning info and confirmation numbers in the book along with journaling each day about your trip. You could record what photo numbers belong to what etc. and then when you get home all of the information is recorded so that you don't forget it before you go to scrap your trip. _____________________________ Colleen F. http://cleancreate.blogspot.com/ www.flathers.blogspot.com |

You might want to take something you can keep bigger items such as menus or maps of parks. Sometimes you can't fit those into a small book. I like to take those 12 x 12 craft keepers. They are like big plastic envelopes. This way I can put items in there and they won't get wet or damaged, and they will stay flat. I hope this helps!!! _____________________________ Scrap away, scrap away, scrap away all. Please pray for our soldiers. Blog: http://kellyisascrapdiva.wordpress.com
