OMYGOODNESS!!!I've done gumpaste and cake decorating having taken some classes. I made some pretty awesome cakes...but this tool it the ulimate! Honestly, what will they think of next. The Cricut can be used for quilting designs, die-cuts for papercrafting and home decorating, now cake decorating! How great is that!!! |

It has all stainless steel parts and a heavier motor in it for cutting cake materials and retails for around $500. _____________________________ My Blog ![]()

I know, Trenise...I'd love to have one, but at $399 I have to pass! Some people have actually modified their regular Cricut to cut gumpaste...I know the Cake machine will have its own mats that are not sticky, but Provocraft is also coming out with 16 colors of gumppaste sheets!

I saw the demo's of these at CHA, and they were really hyping them. They are the same size as an Expression, so would take up a lot of space in the kitchen. They are a bit pricey for a toy just to cut stuff to put on cakes. Personally I would not even consider one. _____________________________ Proudly Nifty 50 - CFD Trainer - Fiskateer #1166 |

During the demo's they said that the Cake was built of all food safe products, and that the Expressions would not cut the fondant stuff. We were told that it was going to retail for about $500. _____________________________ Proudly Nifty 50 - CFD Trainer - Fiskateer #1166 |

I saw this in action at CHA and although I think it is really cool, It is not on my list of must haves. I don't think that it is a big deal unless you are a pro cake maker or you eat a ton of cake. For the amount that I use I would just make a template with my exsisting machine and cut it out with a knife!! _____________________________ Scrap Notions {my blog} |

Lydia that's what I was saying to someone about it...make a stencil and cut it out with a knife (or use the stencil and just use frosting or food coloring to decorate..)I'm not a professional cake decorator so I really wouldn't have the desire to have this (granted the bakers hats they gave out were cute!) _____________________________ Betsy #2572Certified Fiskars Demonstrator S.W.A.T. I saw it a CHA too and although they were pushing it hard I just could not see that I would use it enough in my day to day life. I only make cakes maybe twice a year. They did make a point of tell us again and again that it would not work with any other machine because it had to be food safe. _____________________________

Did they come up with a release date? It was TBD on their retailers guide arund the holiday. If I knew how to use the gum paste I'd love it :) I wonder if my pazzle could cut? Nah, just a thought. lol. _____________________________ Kim C Fistateer 5612 Lockport NY |
