If you go over to the If It's Groovy (Deb from here owns the group) Ning group they have a section just for boys scrapping projects with it's own design team. It's a great place. _____________________________ My Blog ![]()

Hi, Sue! I have 4 nephews and am always looking for more "masculine" theme and embellishment ideas. You've probably exhausted all the sports equipment type stuff but have you made pages with the team mascot as an embellie? I did this layout for my niece's album early in my scrappy travels and would do it a little bit differently now but it will give you an idea. I copied the cougar head from the school's web site. www.fiskateers.com/community/photo/29246/ You can also use flourishes, paisleys, stars, squares and other geometrics for your embellies. Oh, and all the great metal keys, gear things, washers that are out there now. Of course plaid, striped, dotted and distressed looking papers always look good on guy pages. I assume you are going to document the highlights of your senior's year in his album. I think it would be great to have him do some of the journaling or maybe you could ask him ?'s and record his thoughts in the journaling. The events or moments that you document will probably have to give you the cues for your page designs but I love to scraplift! Have you checked out the Liftateers? _____________________________ Lesa #5200 Visit my blog: http://travelingdownacraftyroad.blogspot.com/ |

I know what it is like to run out of "boy" ideas. I have three and wonder what it would be like, for once, to do a pink layout. ....I like to do a page with the names of the teamates and some action shots of the team. I also include the brochure if there is a tounament. _____________________________ Lynn #6402

Collage Press makes great masculine less child like paper more teen/adult styleImaginisce has great boy themed lines and hey it's clearance LOL ) My favorite for a more TEEN boy line would be Collage Press Think outside the box, I use all lines for all subjects! Buy some Misters or paint and start grunging it up! I just did an all boy LO with the new line Lucy Bird, (its very pink) I sprayed it all with orange and gold Mist and went to town! _____________________________ It's me Pinky...if you don't know me YOU SHOULD! I just remembered...if you look at my profile page on If It's Groovy's Ning group that I also have one of my teenage son there and one with him and my dh. I'm Peg over there, too. The Liftateers is a group here that commits to making layouts that were inspired by others that have been posted in the gallery. Deb is also the one who organizes that. Here's a link to an older post for some more information on it: http://www.fiskateers.com/community/topic/18423 _____________________________ My Blog ![]()

Hi, My boy's not a teen yet (three years to go) but I've kept an eye out for products for the future which could inspire layouts. Try googling "Ink by Steph", there's some great stuff for the more rebel/EMO/rock-band/skater kind of teen (yes, I know I've lumped them all in together and I'll be in trouble if they ever found out!). Creative Imaginations http://www.creativeimaginations.us/index.php also has a range of teen/masculine stickers and papers (E.G. "Caution Boy" which is perfect for the dodgy bedroom pics, "Skull and Xbone", "sports extreme" Marah Johnson and "Ripley's" ). Not knowing what your son is like I can't help much with specific layouts, but I know I plan to scrap the random teen-ness as it happens, rather than only school, sports and achievements. Those sort of photos tend to inspire layouts on their own. I also think they'll mean more in the future (socks and clothes everywhere, new razor, morning horror hair, zitty friends hogging the couch, empty fridge, another pair of bigger shoes, etc). Although, I doubt he'll appreciate it at the time and I may have to scrap in stealth-mode! ![]() |
