Let’s Sew Together – Super Happy Slippers – and a giveaway

IMG_3219Tegenn has been desperate to make some slippers for quite some time, so she was quick to jump on the Super Happy Slippers project from Let’s Sew Together by Rubyellen Bratcher.  They’re on the cover – she spotted them immediately!

She loved using fabric markers to draw pictures on the tops of the slippers – she thinks that drawing on fabric is much more fun than drawing on paper, and I’m inclined to agree with her.Slipper collage 2

Birch Fabrics ~ Part 2 ~ and a giveaway!

I shared a post earlier in the week showcasing the Ipanema Collection by Birch Fabrics and here’s another project I made using fabric from that same collection, this time Bossa Ukes in the orange colorway. Of course, I just HAD to make a case for our ukelele. The fabric was just too perfect for it!IMG_3478 As well as a grey cotton solid and white piping around the edge to create a contrast, I used Pellon’s Fusible Fleece on both the bag outer and bag lining, so that it is pretty padded and offers some protection to the instrument. I added an extra long metal zipper (the longest I could find!) that stretches almost the entire way around the case for easy access.
