I Sewed a Skirt for Barbie!

After Emily’s request to sew something for her Barbie and a batting of her big blue eyes, I could not disappoint.

I cut some scrap orange fabric into 7 pie shaped pieces.
I sewed them together lengthwise (from waist to hem) leaving the ends open
I then sewed the hem
Next I folded down the waist over a very thin piece […]

Recycled Curtains

I have a few sets of old tab top curtains that I no longer use and my craft room needs curtains.  Problem is that my craft room has plain white curtain rod holders.  FYI:  Tab top curtains don’t look great on plain curtain rods.

Buying new curtains really isn’t in the budget so what’s a crafter […]

Denim & Upholstery Fall Bags

I recently I tossed out a call to all Fiskateer to create a bag that they could use during the fall season.  There were fifteen Fiskateers who took on this challenge and they had an entire month to create their bags.
For this challenge, I asked all the participants to submit photos and a short write up about the bag that they created.  So, before […]

Bags Under My Eyes

Yes, it’s true.  I have bags under my eyes.
Am I tired?  Do I need some cucumber slices to help cool down the swelling?  Nope!  The bags under my eyes right now are the bags I’m altering for my sewing challenge that I tossed out to everyone earlier this month.  I thought I’d take a minute […]

Time to Let the Cat Out of the BAG

So, last month I challenged all of you to post a simple handmade project in your Fiskateer gallery using yarn.  Fiskateers posted photos of blankets, sweaters, scarves, paper cards, scrapbook layouts and even a rug.  One random participant was selected using random.org for this previously announced challenge.  The winner of the Fiskars Special Edition Pink […]
