I love the colors of Spring! Ode to Spring with it's beautiful pinks, oranges, greens and more. I also love the Jenni Bowlin Limited Edition punches . . . oh joy!

I was playing once again with the Jenni's Scalloped Banner punch. I took some Springy paper and went to town.

Everyone seems to just love those challenges . . . so I'd like to give you another mixed media challenge. I drew my merry go round and then cut out papers to add to it. I used paint, ink, markers, rubons, watercolors and more. Had a blast just playing.

My challenge to you . . .

Do you ever wonder how colors become popular when you see trends everywhere with a certain pallette?  There's a driving force behind the color trends we see in magazines, stores, and online: The Pantone Color Institute.  This is the group that follows trends and sets the color pallette for any given year or season.  It usually starts on the fashion runway and then trickles in to eve...

Go Green!

Happy St. Patrick's Day Eve.  I decided to play in the ink a bit this week.  You know I love messy inky stuff, and alcohol ink is the secret to the background here. To achieve the monotype technique, you need glossy cardstock and a nonstick surface such as glass or a craft mat. Then of course there's the alcohol ink and it doesn't matter which brand you use.  Drop several drops each...

I'm not sure why I posted a chocolate inspired challenge when I'm not eating sugar or any sweets.  I guess I'm living vicariously through all the yummy flavors everyone was inspired by: chocolate covered raspberry jelly bars, chocolate covered cherries, dark chocolate nougat, milky way candy bar, strawberry cream chocolates, turtles, caramel chocolates, mint chocolate, white chocolate, raspbe...

December Color Challenge {Mr. Grinch}

Author: Tami #804 | Category: Challenges, Tools, Inspiration, Color Challenge | Posted: December 2, 2011 at 10:59 am

I've been obsessed with Grinchy colors this holiday season. I just can't seem to stop, so I decided it would be fun to have a little company in my silliness. Your color challenge for December is lime green, bright pink, and red. I know it's a crazy combo, but it really does work, especially if you throw in a little bling. The rules are the same as every other month: Post a handmade by you creati...

The November Color Challenge was a rocking success. I don't know if anyone actually turned up the heavy metal tunes while they created, but I suspect they may have. I saw everything from sparkly silver to rusted metal in their wonderful creations. I invite you to turn up your favorite tunes and click through all 22 entries in the challenge. Be sure to leave everyone a little love along the way...
