As part of NSM, Fiskars asked four of us to create an inspiration project for the National Sewing Month challenge on their Facebook page - you can read all about it here:  Fiskars Sewing Challenge.  The challenge is to sew something using $15 or less in supplies.  The winner will receive a pair of Fiskars Tailor Shears and a $50 Walmart gift card!  Here are the projects:

But wait, hold the phone!  The best is yet to come!  Fiskars is letting us have a challenge especially for Fiskateers!  That’s right, the rules are the same as the first challenge, except you’ll need to post a picture of your completed project in your Fiskateer gallery, and leave a link on this blog post.  You’ll have until midnight EDT on Septmber 30th to post your pics and link.  The winner will be chosen at random on October 2nd, and will receive a pair of Fiskars Tailor Shears and a $50 Walmart gift certificate! 

Woohoo!  Feel free to enter both challenges, just keep in mind that it has to be a different, new challenge for each!  Also, because of the prize, we have to limit the entries to U.S. residents only (don’t worry all of you international gals, I’ll think up a little something just for you ).

Isn’t she beautiful?  She’s an 8-inch knife edge scissor that also comes in a 4 and 5 inch size!

Sonia is the latest in the Gingher 2010 Designer Series.  She’s only available from your local fabric shop or select online stores, and she’s a limited edition!  She should be showing up soon, so if you happen to see her, tell her “hello” from me!

Aren’t they adorable?  She made the brown owl for Hayley.  So, after picking my wool, and poking myself more than once, this is what I ended up with:

It was the perfect thing to pair with a very Fiskateer-y bead that Angela had given to me!  Won’t that be a great necklace?  And guess what else I learned?  Robin said that if I’m doing something fairly flat, I can use my Fiskars USX templates as designs! Awesome!  Another great use for Fiskars!

I’ve enjoyed PaperCrafts Magazine for years, and after having met Jennifer in person, I’m an even bigger fan!  I’ll let you in on a little secret - Jennifer has been known to hug a Fiskars tool or two.  She is my kind of gal!!  Her super-talented co-worker, the fabulous Susan Opel, loves the color orange - just look at the pic they sent me!

Yes, it’s the one and only Batman!  Even though he is world famous, he let me be his superhero sidekick at the show.  How does “Batman and Becca” grab you for the name of a dynamic crime-fighting and crafting duo?  I’m all set to support Batman when he needs me, as long as I don’t have to wear tights ( I am lovin’ the idea of a cape though)!

Do you recognize the man behind the mask?  I’ll give you a hint:  His mom is “Legendary”!  Guess away!
