I just wanted to stop in and wish you all a nice, long weekend.  I hope you all have fun enjoying the “last” weekend of summer before all of the school craziness, fall, and, aahhh dare I say it, holiday seasons (eek!) start! 

I am running a Fiskars challenge this weekend on my blog, so be sure to check it out if you are looking for some fun crafting ideas to do this weekend. 

Well, enjoy your weekend and happy crafting!  I plan on scrapping with some friends tomorrow, then hanging with my boys the rest of the weekend.  We are heading to Wrigley on Monday to watch our beloved Cubs - the boys are super excited - they can’t wait to sing “Take me out to the Ballgame” and cheer on their favorite players…  should be a fun weekend!

  That’s right, it’s almost the end of August and do you fisk-a-teers know what that means? A whole new month of F-U-N and inspiration from www.fiskarscrafts.com!!! It’ll all start appearing on September 1 in the newsletter and on the site, but I wanted to come on over and share some sneak peeks and tell you a little bit about what I’m up to. Yes, it’s me (May) and I thought it would be fun to share secrets with my fisk-a-friends. 

 September is National sewing month, and we’re celebrating in several ways on the fiskars site. There will be 2 project downloads on the 1st, as well as a new sewing project article every MONDAY in September and a new project with the 12-in-1 sewing tool as well.

 What’s that? You’d also like to “rock the weekends?” Well rumor has it that a new craft article will be featured AND a new craft project will be uploaded every Thursday this month. Oh, and there’s more (do I sound like the infomercial dude yet?), we’ve got our sketches of the month (rumor has it they might go up early!), featured designer of the month, guest designers, and of course Fiskars TV! In other words, I think you are going to enjoy this pumped up month of madness, projects, and tools galore.

I just thought that I would stop in, say hi, and share a little bit of what has been going on with me…

The boys, first of all, are growing like weeds!  I am gone most weeks Tuesday through Thursday and I swear that every week they get bigger in 3 days.  They are amazingly strong and are doing great with the craziness that has become our lives…

The move is slow going.  My goal was to sell the house by today…  it still is…  we are having an open house on Sunday, though, and I hope that it will lead to the right people finding our house.  We have been looking in Madison, but without selling here and Matt finding a job, it is kind of a balancing act.

I am excited because I had something published in a magazine for the first time…  Holiday Home, the hard work of Stephanie Ackerman, hit stores recently and is chock-full of great holiday decorating and gift ideas.  There are projects in there from Stephanie, Lisa Pace, and many others - check it out!

Finally, I just wanted to let you all know that I truly appreciate all of the emails and all of you who have continued to read my blog and just stay in touch with me on a regular basis.  I truly enjoy talking to my fellow Fiskateers and hope all is well with all of you! 

Finally, can I just say, the My Boys cliffhanger will be killing me for the next several long months!?!?!?!?!?!?  I know some of you watch it with me, but come on - could they torture us any more!?!?!?!?

Okay, enough rambling, I just wanted to say hi…  HI!!!!

I am down to only needing 3 people for Sunday from 9:30-1:00 and 1-2 people for Saturday from 1:00-4:30!

Okay!

I am in charge of scheduling all of the Fiskarazzi events.  As I am doing this, I am getting emails from people who can’t make it, had schedule changes, etc… 

This means that I desperately need people to help out at CHA this weekend!  Now, I know that a lot of you have emailed people at one time or another indicating that you are interested in working.  I am begging you now to email me!!!  shamen@fiskars.com

It will be SUPER FUN!!!  You will get a badge to the show and all you need to do is where black pants, comfy shoes, and bring a white t-shirt to create your shirt for the show.  You will take pictures of people with our celebs (aka - Heidi Grace, Amy and Nancy, etc…), hand out snacks, ask questions (pre-written ones, so you don’t even have to think one up!) at our mock press conferences, and just spread some Fiskateer love!  The rest of the time, you can walk around, check out the show, and just spread some more Fiskateer Cheer!

Unless you have heard from me as a confirmed helper with the Fiskarazzi events, I don’t have you down!!!  So…  I have all of these openings availalble:

Friday:  4 people 9:30-1:00  and 1 person from 1:00-4:30

Saturday:  4 people 9:30-1:00 and 3 people from 1:00-4:30

Sunday: 3 people from 9:30-1:00

Thank you to for the beautiful sympathy cards I’ve been getting in the mail. You are a truly amazing group of women, you have no idea how much you mean to me.

It’s amazing how therapeutic crafting can be. Here’s a page I made this week. Have I mentioned how much I love the Heidi Grace Baby line? LOVE it- what wonderful timing that Heidi came out with a baby line right as I was having my baby. Coincidence? Of course, but I can pretend she did it just for me…

10. Set up a summer self-portrait photo shoot. YOU CAN DO IT!!

9. make a list of all the things you want or need to get done this week. See if you can get a jump on them! Or… just go watch a favorite movie. again. I’ve got emma, pride & prejudice, and zoolander on standby…

8. visit www.fiskarscrafts.com and marvel at the new July 1st stuff. Featured designer, new sketch, and project a day is back ladies and gents!! Oh and want to get an earlier peek? first thing on June 30th you’ll be able to see a new article and project of the week. Want me to sneak what the theme is in July? sorry. you’ll have to wait. (but the article going up - will be featured article- june 30th will give it away…)

7. bake cupcakes. and cookies. and maybe some lemon bars.

6. Re-organize craft supplies, clean craft area, organize photos in proper containers. (sorry. laughing here. no way is this happening!)

5. Check out the world of Ree (aka pioneer woman) and try some of her good recipes.

4. Take photos of everyday stuff that often gets overlooked. Like roast pork. new flowers. toys. etc.

3. empty and dust your china cabinet. Ditto to the tops of your cabinets in general.

2. visit May’s personal blog. I heard there will be at least 1 prize given June 30.
