One little note: In the video I said that this technique will work with every Fiskars border punch, and it will. But not every punch design looks good going ’round the corner. For example, when You go ’round the corner with the effervescence border punch, it looks like an alien head. Not good, unless that’s the look You are going for.

So what do You think, easy enough?

I am a brave soul for sharing this. Keep in mind that both Ben and I are under the weather so we didn’t get much sleep last night. That will explain the showered yet haggard look.

A few items of note as You watch the video:

The squeaky door has been silenced.

The window seat cushion is still unfinished.

Now is the perfect time to complete an ornament from 2005.

Thank You so much for the organizational tips and suggestions. I still need to really organize my papers and ribbon, but at least I can sit at my desk and scrap!

I did find a few goodies to give away (don’t worry, I saved the 2005 ornament for myself) so I made 3 boxes with random stuff that will be shipped to Teresa #6857, Sue #2266 and Marla #3291. Congrats, Ladies! Please email your address AND phone number to me at kellyjo@fiskateers.com.

I’ll be posting the 1 hour challenge winners later today. You can enter anytime before I draw the winner, and I think I’ll bring back the comment winner, too, so check out the entries and leave some Fisk-a-Love!

The past few days, the temps have climbed into the 40s (woo-hoo). We have even seen that glowing fireball in the sky for a few brief moments. That’s all it takes for me to catch the Spring Fever Bug. And one of its symptoms… Spring Cleaning!

I’ve cleaned and scrubbed and washed and organized almost every room in this house. Only one remains, my scraproom. It’s time to dig in and really, really get it organized.

I’ve got a big plan, but it’s going to take all weekend and help from You! I’ve got some trouble areas that I’m just not sure of the best way to organize them. How do You store your clear stamps? And what do You do with new stuff that You want to play with? Do You have a ‘favorite’ organizational tip? Please share with me.

While I’m organizing my space, I’m also going to be organizing my crop bag. I got a desktop tote for Christmas that still has the tags on it. It’s going to sit on my desk and be ready to go when I head out to crop. What should I put in it?

I’ll post a video of my clean and organized scrap space at the end of the weekend, or at the end of this Spring cleaning, whichever comes first.

While I’m organizing, I’m sure to find some goodies that will need a good home so I’ll be drawing a random winner from the list of suggested organizational comments.

Thanks and wish me Luck!

He’s also a syndicated columnist and author, including his latest book; The Green Gardener’s Guide; simple significant actions to protect and preserve the planet.
The past few years, we have purchased starter plants at our local nursery, but this year I want to get a jump start and I’m wondering how to start seeds indoors. Hopefully Joe can help me out. Are You growing a garden this year? Bring Your questions to the chat for Joe. To enter the chatroom, click here and please use your real name.
I’m going to look and see if I can find some Fiskars garden stuff to give away. Think I have any? You’ll have to join the chat to find out.

I had a lot of stuff going on this week. Everything seemed to be due at the same time and in typical fashion, I kept procrastinating. Although I think I work better under pressure, the pressure can sometimes become stressful and overwhelming. When this happens to me, thoughts seem to bounce around in my head and I have a hard time focusing. I recognized that I was getting overwhelmed and instead of allowing it to spiral, I decided to step back and do something relaxing, and for me that’s crafting.

I do something crafty every week, but I haven’t created a scrapbook page in a while so I decided to scrapbook for 1 uninterrupted hour. It was Fisk-a-Fabulous! I pulled the first set of photos that inspired me, selected the first papers that I saw that matched, and sat for 1 hour just playing. Some of You shared the moment with me on the message board and have already seen the finished product in the gallery.

So now I have a challenge for You. Set aside 1 hour of uninterrupted scrap time. You can select Your photos before You start, but once you sit down and start scrappin’, enjoy the uninterrupted time and have fun playing. If You are looking for a little inspiration, use the new Crate & Barrrel catalog cover as inspiration. I just love the fun colors on the clean white. Very Springy!

When the hour is up, stop and enjoy your results. Upload your scrapbook page to the gallery and leave a comment here with a link. You have until Monday, March 8th. I’m sure You can find one hour over the next 9+ days, especially with Rebecca hosting the on-line crop this weekend and all. The only rule… remember to enjoy the process and relax.

Now for the winners of the Little Yellow Bicycle page kits. Congratulations to Tina #3612 (Generation Z), Carissa #6971 (Lucky Me) and Jen #2794 (Fresh Print Clothesline). Email me your address and phone number to kellyjo@fiskateers.com to claim your prize!

I’ve shared before how Lucky I am that Little Yellow Bicycle has it’s office right here in Connecticut! I recently attended another make ‘n take night at New England Scrapbook Company with Thom, Sharon Ann and Lori. There new lines are so beautiful.

The first page uses Fresh Print Clothesline. I added a photo of me and Emily from Mother’s Day 2008. (I was pregnant with Benjamin in this photo.) I love all the soft colors and vintage feel to this line. This page kit comes with a whole sheet of cardstock stickers.

The next line is called Lucky Me. Sharon Ann was inspired to create this line because she has a knack for finding four-leaf clovers, I guess that makes her lucky. I’m lucky, too, and I added photos from last St Patty’s Day to show You why. This page kit comes with tons of extra clear cuts. (Keep reading to find out how You might be Lucky.)

And the third line is Generation Z. Love all the graphics and these photos of Ben were just a perfect match! And this page kits comes with a whole sheet of very rockin’ cardstock stickers.

I just love these new lines and I love Little Yellow Bicycle. And LYB is very generous, too.

So, would You like to win a page kit? I have one of each to share. To enter, leave a comment here with which line You would like to win. Be sure to include your Fiskateer number!

I hope You are Lucky!

After Emily’s request to sew something for her Barbie and a batting of her big blue eyes, I could not disappoint.

I cut some scrap orange fabric into 7 pie shaped pieces.

I sewed them together lengthwise (from waist to hem) leaving the ends open

I then sewed the hem

Next I folded down the waist over a very thin piece of elastic and sewed

Then I pulled the elastic to fit a little snug around Barbie’s very small waist and finally sewed the two open ends of the skirt together

I know there are easier ways to make a skirt for Barbie, but I was actually trying out an idea that I had in my head on how to make a skirt for Emily and maybe even myself. Seems that my tiny prototype was a big success!

And Yes, I realize that Barbie now needs a matching top. But orange and green Do go together!
