I love the new Kimberly Poloson.  This particular paper is foiled . . . the design stands out beautifully with a metallic twist.  I used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on this one and some Heidi Grace cardstock letter stickers as the mask.  So this is a quick one using some beautiful KP.

I’m also loving the Heidi Grace Reagan’s Closet and Valentine line too. At CHA Heidi drew some sketches and personalized them.  I used the sketch she did for my daughter on this quick layout and some scraps from our make and take at CHA.  I used four photos on this layout . . . I’m usually a one or two photo gal.  

So, there you have it . . . a bit of the new product.  I’m also loving the new race car line by Lil’ Davis.  Now I just need to get some fun photos from a neighbor that races.  I’m looking forward to creating with it.

No big deal but I’ve come down with a head cold.  It’s just I feel a little run down and don’t feel ‘up to par’. 

While there is a lot I’d love to share . . . I’m going to share about my sweet lil’ package.  Sweet it is too.

I received it yesterday.  A few weeks ago I was looking on Etsy and found these wonderful hand carved stamps.  I didn’t have time originally to purchase the oh so sweet scissor stamp that I’ve been looking for all my life . . . seriously, I’ve been looking for a cute whimsical scissor stamp and I knew this was perfect to start my (scissor stamp collection - possibly).  So last week I went back and found the site and hit ‘purchase’.  For $7 . . . I think that’s a wonderful deal on this little treat.  Like Angela mentioned in an earlier blog, her and I are definitely Etsy connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

Well, from time to time I’m going to be sharing/profiling a fiskateer in your community or sharing a story that has come across my desk of humor or fiskateer friendliness.

So I’d like to make a formal introduction . . . fiskateer community this is Theresa.

• How often do you craft?   I try to scrapbook at least once a week.  I also knit and sew.  I make Christmas ornaments every year for my grand and great grandchildren.  I try to make it different every year so I am trying all kinds of crafts.

• What inspires you to create?  My family.
• What is your favorite Fiskars tool:  Crimper, trimmer, eyelet setter.  I’m looking forward to learning even more about fiskars tools and how to use them. 
• Any fun tidbits you’d like to share with the community?  I am part of a scrapbooking group that my daughter-in-law Annie (also a Fiskateer) created.  We do montly challenges and online crops.  It’s called ‘The Scrappy Chix and One really Super Cool Scrappin’ Dude’.  The group consists of my youngest daughter Theresa (who lives in Choctaw, OK), my two granddaughters Emily (Theresa’s daughter), Rowynn (Annie’s daughter), my Grandson Liam (Annie’s son), Diana (Annie’s cousin who lives in Washington state), and Ina (Annie’s sister). I joined because I love the connection we all have and because we share the art of scrapbooking.

So there you have it . . . if you haven’t already met her . . . you are formally introduced. 

I encourage you to reach out and make her your friend or reach out to any fiskateer.  We have so much to share with one another.  Each of us with unique personalities and gifts.

I have the blessing today of getting together with a fiskateer that has traveled quite a distance to come to Disneyland.  We have emailed for a couple of years I believe now and I we are going to meet her this afternoon.  I’m so excited.  I love my FiskaFriends!

I wanted to share about the journey yesterday.  After a couple of wrong turns, I arrived at the historic Queen Mary and it was a lovely day. 

I made my way on deck and enjoyed all the cute and quaint shops.  Those of you attending the Fisk-a-friendzy . . . you may want to make sure you bring along a little cash for a famous California shake (get it?)!  Mocha flavors, Snickers, Chocolate Banana, date, and the list goes on. 

There are cute little shops as well as a little mini mall in the Main Hall.  For your fine dining pleasure . . . there is the famous Chelsea restaurant (if you’re staying aboard the evening of the 15th . . . maybe something you want to take advantage of the next day). 

I enjoyed touring the room where we will be enjoying our day aboard the Queen Mary called the “Royal Salon”.  Yes, royalty has dined in this room and so will you.  It’s a beautiful room with a lovely view of the Long Beach coastline.

While aboard I also spotted the Queen in her salon.  She was looking radiant.  Isn’t she?  See a little video of her appearance . . . (Okay . . . we are having technical difficulties so the video is not available at the moment).

In the end, the Queen found her captain.  Everyone lived happily ever after.

Seriously, my friend Mitzi (a Nifty Fifty member) went with me and we did run into the captain.  Captain James was nice enough to take a photo with us.

After touring the historic and wonderful Queen Mary we headed to the Aquarium of the Pacific.  Here’s a little sneak peek.  The Aquarium (inside and out) was teaming with life.

And right across the street . . . Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  Remember Forrest Gump?  Well, after our event and a visit to the Aquarium we are planning an informal dinner as a fiskateer group to this yummy restaurant.  So you may want to be brush up on your Forrest Gump trivia.  It’s a lively and fun place with yummy food . . . seafood, burgers, salads. 

So there you have it . . . those of you that will be attending the event . . . a sneak peek of a very fun day!

Those of you who can’t . . . no worries . . . we will share ’some Fiskars love’ with you and photos too.

Well, that got me thinking . . .

Quite often when I teach classes, demo or I’m crafting, I meet folks that are left-handed.  I feel that sometimes left-handed folks are left behind when it comes to tools . . . but not with Fiskars.  Fiskars makes left-handed scissors and cares.  So I’ve tried to ’share some love’ with ‘lefties’ when I have the opportunity.  I try and do a giveaway for lefties at events.  For those of you that live in California and are left handed . . . in San Diego there is a left handed store . . . tools, etc.  If it’s still there . . . it was near the San Diego fisherman’s village area.

So this is the ‘no one left out’ giveaway.  For those of you that are ‘lefties’ or know a ‘lefty’ that you’d like to bless with a pair of ‘left handed scissors’ . . . comment here and I’ll give away a couple of pairs of ‘classic lefty’ scissors. 

If you know of a fiskateer that might be new or feeling left out . . . I encourage you to reach out to them and do something nice for them . . . maybe an encouraging email or word, maybe a RAK (random act of kindness) . . . whatever it might be . . . let’s make sure now one feels ‘left out.’

I wish we could all be there as one big Fiskateer family but it’s not physically possible with over 5,000 fiskateers now (yay!)  But for those of you who will be at home . . . there will be loads of fun as well on the board as well.  Watch for Legendary Crop coming up during the time of the regionals!  More information on the message board and to be announced.

Wow . . . that was fun.  I didn’t even know some of the flavors you mentioned existed.  Like licorice or Bubble Yum.  Yummmm!  Well, sure was fun having cake and ice cream with you all!

I enjoyed the party and the cake and ice cream.  This party was the icing on the cake to a great scrapping week.
