One Key at a Time

Fact:  I’m right handed.

Fact:  Murphy’s law is an epigram that typically states… “Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”

Fact:  It has taken me six minutes to type all the words in this post up to this point using only my left hand.

Fact: My right index finger is in a splint, my hand is swollen like a big balloon and my entire right arm is elevated in a sling.

Yes, I’m having one of those weeks.  I’ve injured my right hand.  Things like this happen.  Typing is a challenge.  I’m pecking at the keys one letter at a time with my non-dominate left hand.  It’s weird to feel the natural reflexes of my right hand twitching in the sling wanting to type the thoughts going through my head right now.

Long story short, I’m officially out of commission for awhile.  The remote control and a good murder mystery are keeping me entertained inbetween my naps in my cozy queen sized bed.  But oh, what I wouldn’t give to play with my Fiskars punches right now.

So, since things seem to be going wrong for me this week and I’m a little blue, I thought I turn a wrong into a right.  Since I can’t play right now, I bet someone reading this wou’d love to play with a new toy.  So, the right thing for me to do right now is to give away a mystery punch to a lucky reader like YOU.  (Hint: This punch is a new release!)

I’d love to hear about what’s gone right for YOU this week.  It’s time to give YOURSELF a shout out about something happy or funny happening in YOUR life… Or perhaps YOU have a funny scrapbooking quote to share for a good laugh.  Leave a comment all about YOU that will make all our readers smile or laugh and I’ll pick a lucky reader sometime Sunday night.

Hi Wendy Jo, Sorry you are having a bad week. Something funny happened to me yesterday. I got an e-mail from a car dealership, promoting an auction or something. I thought, Okay, let me see how good these deals are and I clicked on the link. Well, I found the deal of the lifetime. They had made a major typo on their website and showed a 2007 vehicle marked down from $19,995 to $1,995. I clicked on the ‘Make me an offer’ button on the website and offered them exactly what they had listed. Someone called me right away. He explained that it was a ‘human error’ and asked if I was still interested in this $17,000 vehicle. I told him no, but I would be willing to pay CASH for the advertised price. How cool would that have been! Oh well, it was fun anyway.

Uh-Oh..I hope you feel better soon…

About a decade ago when my hubby dear and I were dating…we used to walk from his dorm to my bus stop quite often….one the way there used to this odd looking water tank….one fine day my husband decided to share a secret with me… “That tank”, he whispered, “is actually an alien space craft!”.
Me being me, actually believed him and kept this secret to myself for a long time, until he spilled the beans (copied it from Men in Black and Seattle’s Space needle)…

When I think about this I find it funny that I actually believed him …. more so over, thank heavens I didn’t “share” the secret and make a bigger fool of myself

    :-)

Sorry to hear you’re out of commission sweet Wendy Jo. Relax and make the most of your down time. No funny stories here, but something good did happen. My husband was actually home with me for a whole 36 hours. Take care of yourself. I’m going back to bed with my headache.

  4. April Dawn #5734 says:

Okay, sorry about the injury. Bummer. Glad your taking it with a spoonful of sugar. My week is actually going pretty good, despite the rain. All of my family are healthy and in one piece. Foods on the table and bills paid. No complaints here.

As for a funny anecdote..Up until about 2 yrs ago I actually thought the yellow line of scrimmage you see on T.V. was actually a real line. Watching Football with my hubby as we usually do, I said to him..I wonder how they get the line across the field so fast..must be some kind of laser light. Imagine my face while he laughed himself into tears.

  5. Stephanie #3584 says:

oh WJ, so sorry, but I appreciate your hardship is something great for one of us! LOL.

Something good in my life…. my son, who went to Navy Boot Camp while I was seeing Mickey for the first time with the rest of you Fiskateers (July 27), FINALLY gets to come home in time for not only Christmas, but his 20th birthday onthe 18th! I am so excited. AND, he knows he can’t come home with out hitting the local Archiver’s for something for his dear mom. :)

  6. Michelle 3624 says:

Oh you poor dear do take care and I hope you heal fast and are able to use you hand soon. I know that must be hard not to be able to create when we want to.

I have had good things happen to me this week my DH was away on a business trip and a dear Fisk-a-friend called to make sure I was doing okay. I was a wonderful think for her to do and appreciate that she cares so deeply. Oh and my DH came home and my life feels complete again even if it is a tad bit more noisy.

  7. Groovy Deborah says:

Bummer WJ!!! Enjoy those naps at the very least ;)

Something good that happened to me this week was being able to actually get out of my bed for the first time in like 20 days!
Swine Flu was not nice to me and Katelyn but we are both trying to get back to normal now.

OK, this is not funny but funny sounding to me and unreal…my husband called me after he went to the doctor yesterday. He thought he had a hernia and turned out he broke a rib…from coughing! I did not believe him and kept making fun like “oh yeah right” “good one” because I figured he just wanted some attention as so many guys do when they get the sniffles…but it was for real!

    Oops on me, lol!
    Deb♥

  8. Linda 4949 says:

I’m so sorry you’re out of commission, (although I believe that any excuse for reading a good murder mystery is a good one)I hope you’re feeling better and mending rapidly.
I like the calendars that double as desk pads but I refuse to pay a fortune for a calendar. Last year I got mine at Staples for a couple dollars but when DH wanted one there were none left. I ended up finding one for him at one of the discount stores and was quite pleased with my purchase. Imagine our surprise when I tore off the May page and discovered…January! And February and March and so on. So his calendar ended up being a desk pad that doubled as a desk pad. This year when I bought them I carefully opened each of the packages to make sure all the months were where they should be…LOL

  9. Rosalee says:

Sorry to hear about your Hand Wendy Jo, sure hope you will be back to typing with both hands soon. That must be a bummer.
Today I decided to take a new card technique and try my luck at it. It took me hours to get a teddy bear painted, digitaly, and then about 1/2 an hour to get the right size printed out.
After I finally got those 2 things done it went as smooth as a whistle. I had no more problems and I ended up finishing the cards and they were a success.

  10. Angela #3100 says:

I hope you’re feeling better and back to crafting soon Wendy Jo! I’m excited to be decorating for Christmas this weekend. All of the decorations are out of the attic and I’ve got to get it done ’cause company is coming on Tuesday!

  11. Lesa #5200 says:

Oh, Wendy Jo! How horrible for you. I do hope the hand/finger heals soon.
I’ve had a busy but good week. We upgraded our TIVO this week and the new DVR shipped on time and arrived on time. It works and the cable people did what they were supposed to do when they were supposed to do it. When DH got in last night and decompressed, we moved the old Pioneer DVD/DVR and cable box to my craft room and set the new TIVO one up in the den. Everything looked great w/the new one except the people were blue! We discovered that we had 2 of the video cables switched–for the last 4 years, LOL! We have a much better picture now but can’t understand why it ever worked in the past.
Hope you’re back in crafty action soon.

  12. Susie #6652 says:

I am sorry about your misfortune…take it as a signal to slow down and relax….being out of your normal routine might give you a different perspective of what goes on around you…..enjoy this opportunity to be pampered this Thanksgiving !
I’ve had a great week…long but great. I was given a Butterball turkey for Thanksgiving from my brother. Abbey and I made it through another week without getting sick despite those dropping around us it seems. We have great weather for a weekend together…..and we have a 1/2 gallon of ice cream in the freezer for desert !

  13. Joan #808 says:

Sorry that you are having a bad week.Everything has gone right so far this week for me.

    Joan

  14. connie #2909 says:

I am sorry to hear about your hand. Hope you are back to crafting and typing soon. Enjoy your book. My week was good. Funny story…..when my daughter was about 5 she was in the living room playing and the news was on TV. It was showing video from some flooding. She said, MOM I didn’t know they had stop signs in the river! I was so confused! I said no they don’t have stop signs in the river. She said YES they do LOOK and pointed to the T.V. There was some people in boat paddling down their street and there it was the top of a stop sign! You could not see the pole. That was 18yrs ago and my mom still loves telling this story.

  15. Christina 4635 says:

Oh No!!! Sorry to hear your under the weather and banged up!
This week was the usual comedy of errors for me. I washed one of our DS’s dressed THREE times this week before it ever made it to the dryer. She got sauce on it at dinner so I treated it and washed it, forgot about until it was icky smelling, washed it again. Forgot AGAIN that I had washed it and it was icky smelling and had to wash it a third time and finally remembered to throw it in the dryer.

  16. Patty 2832 says:

Wendy Jo ! What on earth have you done now ? Shall we start calling you Grace ? LOL Seriously, I do hope it isn’t too serious and you heal quickly !

I think the best thing for me this week has been.. I almost feel like my “normal” self ! After getting the swine flu way back in October, then bronchitis and still some sinus issues, I think I almost feel human again!

Do take care of yourself and try to enjoy your “down” time ! Hugs!

  17. Betsy #2572 says:

Sorry you are out of commission maybe you can learn to be an ambidextrous scrapper (it would help you in the long run..???) ! Ok my week was pretty bad BUT I accomplished a HUGE goal. I redid my bedroom (well not totally I got it rearranged, painted and fixed a 2 x 2 foot hole in the wall (yes I drywalled!) the hole has been there for 11 years and I had forgotten about it until I decided to rearrange furniture (something got put up against it and I just plumb forgot about it) but it is fixed, I even got the carpet shampooed! Hubby has been gone for 2 weeks and I haven’t told him I did any of it…boy will he be surprised!

  18. sandyh50 says:

Aaaah, I am so sorry you are not doing so well. My funny story is basically asking myself why I did a glitter layout, and of course the answer is for Kelly Jo’s online challenge #1. I have glitter all over me and the carpet, you get the idea. I am kind of blue too with my friend hospitalized with swine flu and pneumonia and lung collapse and not doing well at all. I will read all the posts this weekend and hope we all have some cheering up.

  19. wanda #5068 says:

Oh no! Wendy Jo, I hope you have a quick recovery. Earlier this week my 6 yrs. old grandson went to the hospital with pneumonia. He came home tonight and we are so grateful! I thought you could use a laugh. The following is a joke I recently found. Bob Hope….
One of Bob’s favorite golfing partners is Gerald Ford, “the man who made golf a contact sport”. You all know Jerry Ford–the most dangerous driver since Ben Hur. Ford is easy to spot on the course “He drives the cart with the red cross painted on top.” Whenever I play with him, I usually try to make it a foursome-the President, myself, a paramedic and a faith healer. One of my most prized possession is the purple heart I received for the golf I’ve played with him. “Whenever I play with Ford these days I carry 13 clubs and a white flag. I try to win only enough from him to pay my extra insurance premiums.

  20. Colleen # 2970 says:

sorry to hear about your finger, hand and arm. I am not sure I could handle typing like that. Anyway what has gone right for me this week, we have been struggling financially for a few months and this week some things came together and we are now able to get a few things taken care of. Now I just have to keep my husband from going crazy so we don’t have problems again.

  21. lilyluv says:

sorry about your hand WJ that must be a bummer what with the challenges KJ’s is dishing out..but at least you can peek in now and then …everything went well for me this week …no complaints here

  22. EileenW #1512 says:

Hope you’re all better soon. I had a very happy day yesterday with my cousin and her new hubby from Japan who were visiting us here in America on their honeymoon. They are a sweet couple and we had a great time sightseeing and spending time together.

  23. Patty 2262 says:

Right now I am on a Twilight kick…I hosted a Twilight themed party where I made the decorations and crafted my little heart out and then invited all my friends…even though some don’t like Twilight. We had so much fun and I have been made honorary party queen which is kinda nice. I could post pictures of what I did so you all can see.

  24. Kathy Fisk. # 5588 says:

Sorry to hear you are not doing too well.
What has gone well on this end…well, I am in Canada and I planted daffodil bulbs today! :) This is the end of November and still warm enough for planting!! It’s a great life!
    Take care.

  25. Katie Wilson says:

First of all, I am so sorry that you are injured, and out of commission. It isn’t just the physical pain, but being out of commisison that makes you blue, so I hope you’re better soon!

What ahs gone right for me this week is that I turned out some really pretty ornaments for our ornament swap, and actually got them finished ahead of schedule! That doesn’t happen too often! Plus I found some great scrapbook deals at Tuesday Morning this week!

The funny quote that I read somewhere, and that would make a great bumper sticker is:

    Scrap Happens!

So sorry that (s)crap happened to you! Feel better soon!

    Katie #5907

  26. Peg #3675 says:

Hope your hand is better soon. Many things have gone right for me this week. I think the best thing is that Kevin and I actually got to have some alone time when Josh went to his cousins. That hasn’t happened in a while. I was worried about the budget this week as I found a mistake I had made in the checkbook, but when Kevin finally did get paid it all worked out and we had the amount that I had budgeted for at the beginning of the month so I was so relieved over that. Another thing is that I got some crafting time this week when I didn’t think I would.

  27. Marianne Brinkley says:

Not exactly my story, but sort of…A good friend of mine came over so I could “teach her how to make cards” last week so she could make Thanksgiving cards. We cut pieces out on my cricut, I showed her a few ideas, gathered up a few tools she could take home and off she went. The card for my husband and I came in the mail today. I looked at the front and sort of had a proud moment, like any good teacher would. The front of the card was beautiful. She used some of the fall colored leaves we had cut on the Cricut, a fall picture she had copies made of just for the cards and she hand wrote the words on the front in her very nice, neat printing. It was great! She even remembered how I showed her how the pop dots would add add demension and used them for the leaves. So, I decided I did a good job being her new “card mentor.”

Then…I went to open it. It opened on the top instead of the bottom!! I guess I forgot the part about suggesting putting the picture on the card right side up!

I was actually on my way to her house when I stopped to get my mail and had looked at it. We had a good laugh about it when I thanked her! I didn’t mention the oops, she did. She said that since I was the teacher I would be the most understanding that the very first card she made didn’t turn out quite right!

I hope your finger heals quickly! It is amazing how important each little part of our body is made to help all of the other parts!

  28. Debbie #4668 says:

You finally get your computer working good for you and now your hand goes on you. Hope it is better soon and you can still eat your twizzlers with one hand.
Nothing funny happened this week just a long long week at school.

  29. Tona #4437 says:

Sorry to hear about your injuries.
Monday was my mom’s b-day so I baked her some cupcakes & put them in a cupcake tier. When she walked into the room & saw them her face just lit up. That is my happy story of the week.

  30. Maxine Brittain says:

Sorry to hear about your injury. Something funny….almost 17 yrs ago (Dec 4) I got married. We went to Hot Springs for our honeymoon and while there we went to an alligator farm. Outside they had deer and we went out to feed them and one of those HUGE bucks jumped up on my back! I just knew he “knew” what we had been doing and was going to try the same thing! I think my hubby thought that too…cause he stopped trying to feed them and get him off of me, then he noticed that it was only trying to get the bread out of my hand so hubby stopped trying to get him off me and started taking pics. When we got home, we were telling everyone about the experience, but had NO pics to prove it because in trying to work one of those “new” cameras that would rewind the film auto, we (ummmm, I mean….I) accidently exposed the film. So all we had to prove it was the paw prints on my sweater! True story!!

  31. Mary #5509 says:

Sorry to hear about your bad week! What went right for me this week is that I made 4 teacher gifts for xmas and started making my xmas cards. It was so fun to get my crafting stuff out and start using it.

  32. Elizabeth #1802 says:

Hope that you feel better soon. It is terrible when you can’t use your hands or arms….
I had a great week this week. Last weekend I went to a crop and got so much done and I had scrapbooking at Church this week and was able to finish a few odds and ends, I feel so productive!!!

  33. Susan #2072 says:

Sorry to hear about your injuries Wendy Jo. Hope you heal fast. My happy time this week was going with my friends Tanya and Amy out to dinner then seeing the long awaited “NEW MOON” movie.

  34. Kerri_fiskateer_1017 says:

I feel for you typing one handed, but as i do that normally..it would be a challenge to do it with my left fingers…maybe i can try that just in honor of u,WJ ?how do u manage to sleep? cuddles for u being a wounded fiskachickie xxx. well…starting on wed nov.18th..my big girl turned 9yrs old & went to her 1st ever overnight school camp… now if i could only get her out of my scrap stash…skip a few days to sat. afternoon, DH Dave ,myself & our newly 4mth old girl Jeyda attended a wedding of one of his work mates…we even survived the reception for 4hrs kid & baby free…now if only the rest of the week looks this fab !

  35. doverdi says:

I am so sorry to hear about your injury to your hand. Sounds like the remote & a good book will have to take the place of any punches for awhile. Ever read Linwood Barclay’s books. Great mysteries! I just discovered him & really enjoyed the first read & had to sign a couple more of his books out since I enjoyed the first one so much.

My week has been pretty good considering my house is still in chaos & the renovations are going slower than I hoped. I went to the Dr’s this week for my monthly checkup & find out that the swelling in my legs is because I’m still sitting in patio chairs (in my livingroom) and they don’t have enough support for my back & muscles. Can’t wait to finish the livingroom/kitchen so I can get some furniture again. I haven’t had any livingroom furniture since the end of May & am long overdo for it.

  36. vicki in MD says:

omg Wendy Jo - when things take a wrong turn for you, they really take a wrong turn. for me, a wrong turn was corrected when I learned that my father was released last night from the hospital after a 2 week stay from quintuple by-pass and then some serious complications. Being here in MD and him in Ohio has been difficult for me but thanks to daily updates from his wife, I was able to keep in touch.
Enjoy that good murder mystery and here’s to a quicker recovery.

  37. Michele L. says:

oh dear…you MUST relax that right hand of yours…so sorry to hear of the setback and hope you have a fast recovery.

I am so HAPPY that finally I have learned how to put grades online for my gradebook and report card. It has only taken be three weeks to learn this new software system. I had the AHA moment yesterday at school at about 3:00. The lightbulb finally went off and I was sure a happy camper, I mean happy teacher.

  38. Fran #4515 says:

So sorry you injured your hand! Prayers sent for a speedy recovery! I always said that if I lost anything, please leave me my hands!
I have a home-based day care and have been having a difficult time with a 3 yo boy. He is controlling and I spend a lot of time explaining things and scolding him. He came to me the other day and put his arms around my neck and in his innocent honesty said, “Frannie, sometimes I don’t like you.” I let him know that sometimes I don’t like the things he does, but I love him anyway. I had to explain all this trying desparately NOT to laugh at his honesty AND his innocence! I still think about what he said and how he said it and his life has made a turn around, now that he knows it’s OK to say he doesn’t like me sometimes!!!

  39. Karin #6470 says:

Wendy Jo .. I hope you feel better soon. My week hasn’t been a good one, a good friend of mine’s husband was killed in a tragic car wreck - so it’s all been about her and the funeral. I’m sorry I don’t have any funny stories, but I do have a lot of prayers this week and I’ll add your speedy recovery to my list.

  40. louise #3903 says:

It must be so hard not being able to type as we all know how much time we live on our computer! as far a funny story……..I have been in training for 3 weeks for my new job and the other day we had an ALL day seminar which was kinda slow and boring. Anybody knowing me….knows I am really quiet and shy ( NOT) so I was busy visiting with the guy next to me when all of a sudden the speaker stopped and said Looks like we have a question here and looked right at me. Well I turned 6 shades of red and came up with a goofy question but never expected to get caught talking in class at my age LOL!

  41. maryanne 5271 says:

Wendy Jo, I hope that your weeks improve and that you have a speedy recovery!!!

Ok here is a scrapbooking funny from me.

My sister in law and her mom and I did some scrapbooking last Saturday.

I was working on my ATC for swaps here on the mb and my sister in law and her mom were each working on scrapbooking pages.

I was was working on my atc and enjoying some diet root beer when all of the sudden one of them says i lost my s. (she was putting lettering on a page she was doing)

The funny was when she said it it sounded like she said she lost her a**.

We all could not help but laugh!

Hope your able to get some rest Wendy Jo!

  42. the flowergirl says:

Wendy Jo..Sorry to hear about ur hand..everything went well for me this week except i have a messy scrap room..but i guess thats a sign that Im accomplishing something..i got quite a few christmas cards done already

  43. Tina Mayo #457 says:

oh I am soo sorry for you..I have been there once..and my whole hand in a cast for like 6 weeks..when I was in school..and basically failed that whole 6 wks.Hop you feel better soon.

Things that have gone right for me this week..hmm well last week my 2 y/o was diagnosed with Autism…not good..but this week it seems that she has started responding to some things and trying to talk more she said “momma” terars swelled up in my eyes..this is such a good feeling when she hasn’t really talked much.. so I say thank you God for that.nothing else mattered this week but that.

  44. AmyB #1823 says:

Sorry to hear about your injury, Wendy Jo!
Our phone landline went out last week on Fri, due to all the rain from the Nor’easter storm, but Verizon finally got it fixed on Thurs. So hurray for that! And our cell phones were working, so that was good.
Our (new this summer) hot water heater quit working at the same time. Our heating system is tied into it (APOLLO system) but the good thing is we have 2 heating units (thus 2 hot water heaters), one for each side of the house, (good thing) is that the side where the kitchen is, that one kept working, so we could still have hot water for the dishwasher, heat!, hot water for the bathroom on that side. The repairman came and looked at the hot water heater, and has ordered a part!

  45. Karen Sue says:

I became the proud owner of a silhouette this week, is that happy enough news. LOL
get lots of rest and hope your hands gets better quickly.

  46. Sheri as Tadah #1492 says:

Oh Wendy…hope for a speedy recovery so that you can get back to crafting!!!
Good thing that happened…well I was really happy that I met with a friend for coffee over at Starbucks!!! And that I’m not working this weekend!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!
    Smiles.

  47. Marle #6602 says:

Sorry to hear about your hand Wendy Jo…not the best time to be laid up but you can make the most of it and do all the things you want to do when your so busy. The best thing happening to me this week is I went shopping to Regina SK -”I live in MB, Canada” and found great deals, except for a few odds and ends on my list, I’m almost done but the most amazing part was; the weather was summerlike.

  48. Veronica Noechel says:

Oh you poor girl! I broke my elbow once on my dominant arm and it made me nuts because I had to type everything and I prefer to work in longhand, then type (I’m a writer.) It’ll make you crazy trying to peck things out with one hand. I hope the pain subsides soon.
Hrm. Something that went *right* this week. Well, on one hand, my elderly cat’s death was a terribly painful experience for those of us left behind, but as far as lives and deaths go, I have to think that his went pretty darn right. :) We adopted him at a young age, got the fleas eating him alive under control, and since then the biggest hardship he’s endured (outside of the arthritis at the end) was perhaps having his food bowl filled an hour late. :) He had a good death at home, surrounded by his loved ones, petted and hugged with everyone assuring him that we loved him dearly. Not everyone is so lucky. He was 17 and a half which has to be like 98 or so in human years. If you have to go, that seems like the right way, doesn’t it. So, I guess that was something that went right, despite the rest of us feeling sad and lonely. I’m glad we could give him a gentle end.

  49. Laura #1943 says:

Just to live in you’re “sling”, I am typing this with just my left hand!..yes, it’s strange so….heal quickly! What is RIGHT WITH MY LIFE IS:

I have a computer so I can communicate with my faraway friends.

I have a safe, warm, clean place to live.

I have a job and should be grateful.

….and NOW, I have my right hand to finish this up before EASTER !!
…and as I am sitting here, with the next week OFF from that job, my hubby is helping me clean house ! How cool is THAT !!

    Huggs for a speedy recovery…xo

  50. Bronwyn 4505 says:

Something good you say? I finally got hold of my boss this week and managed to get A shift…after a month of trying to track him down (lol he cant hide now - I has him on Facebook!)

I was only meant be to at work 4.5 hours, this grumpy puppy wasnt up with that after being told I would be having a LONG shift…I was told I was going him at 10pm (was meant to be 9pm) and I said NOPE…! I staying to the very end of this banquet…right up through cleaning…supervisor said he would let me stay till midnight I snobbed him….he made a compromise and said if i cleaned the coffee station i can got at 1.45am - i wasnt fully happy..I was prepared to stay another hour…

Dont know if its funny, but I had a completely drunk patron ask me out and want to take me home…lol..dont you love what lots of booze does to people? He just wouldnt leave me alone…now I see what the boss meant when he said security was there and this company were known from pass functions to be reallllly heavy on the booze…!

  51. Cindy Brooking #2059 says:

Wendy Jo, so sorry that you are laid up. The good thing that happened this week is my DD and I went to see “New Moon” today and had a great time.

  52. Chrisitne C #2264 says:

Sorry to hear you are out of crafty commission - that is not good news - I hope you feel better soon.
This weekend I went to my first Stampin up party - that was great fun and held by my old neighbour.
Then last night we went out with 3 sets of our new neighbours and had dinner then went “clubbing” - oh my goodness that that show my age -we were surrounded by teenages mostly with loud booming techno music - not really my scene, but hey we tried it.

Sorry to hear about your injury. I guess my good news for the week is that I got all my kitchen cabinets cleaned inside and out, so when my Thanksgiving company comes, it will be to a really fresh kitchen and that makes me happy!

The good thing that happened for me this week is that I finally felt good enough to get up and clean my house. All of us had suspected cases of H1N1 and we were all super sick for 2 weeks. Thankfully we are all mostly on the mend and my house has been disinfected.

  55. NanaBeth#2906 says:

Since my entire month has been that way, I’m just going to hang around and read all the other entries to brighten my day.

My happy moment is being in my mom’s house right this very minute….. and I get to stay here for 10 more days.

    Get better soon!
I’ve had a pretty good week, but what made it even better was a local Buy, Sell, Give Away on Facebook!
I found a lady selling SU stamps and was able to buy 4 sets from her for $20.00!!!!

Sorry to hear about your hand
My week has been busy and full of fun filled days. After a busy week with my daycare kids and all their hugs. I got to be a special helper for my niece. She had to make a poster with pictures of her family. I got to use my scrapbook tools and help her create a wonderful poster to take to school on monday. It is fun to see her smile and hear her thank you. I love helping others use their imagation to create. Hope things go better for you next week Take care

Oh so sorry to hear about your hand! Well for me this week hasn’t been too bad. I was out shopping in a big city on my birthday, the 17th of November. Found almost everything I was looking for on sale!

But now I’m sick in bed with the flu! I hear my sister scrapping away in the room right next to my bedroom and wish i could join her. She seams to be having so much fun! This just isn’t fair!

Well, I just typed this sentence lefty just for you! Hope I never have to do that again, WJ. Feel better soon.

I had a really good day yesterday. Granddaughter’s birthday and we (Grampa & Nana) got to take her out for the afternoon. She started to feel sick so had to go home, but she told us that it was her BEST Birthday Day Ever!!! Pretty good happening to me.

Sorry to hear you’re having one of those weeks. I got to scrap with some ladies my husband works with Friday night. I even got to tell one of the ladies all about the Fiskateers (she really didn’t know!!! crazy!). Yesterday we put up Christmas decorations. Good weekend all around.

Sorry to hear about your injury! My week has been a little topsy-turvy too! On Tuesday My step-daughter left her significant other and came home with our grandson in tow. We re-arranged a few things and talked a lot and wiped tears and so on and so on! Then on my home from work on Friday my husband called to say that she had packed everything back up and was on her way back to him. Which is okay….he’s actually a decent person…just somewhat selfish. So after going to bed at 11:00 I was awakened by my cell phone ringing at 12:30 am…it was my Step-son…telling me “DON’T SHOOT” I’m coming in the front door….He and his wife are seperated and he came home! Then my brother whom I adore called me and I found out his business is really in trouble and he hasn’t been able to pay his business phone bill for the last two months. Since I adore him and he would give me the very air he breathes to help me…it’s only fair that I help him. All in all though I FEEL BLESSED! I Hope your back to feeling well very soon and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers….
    Lisa

Hope your feels better soon. I have had the priviledge of having my first grandson here at our house while I son in law is at Basic training for the Army. My daughter is a really good mom but I have to say I love that she comes to me when she needs help. Its the best of all worlds.

Wendy Jo, Sorry to learn of your week.

I was able to get a free netbook from my soda “pop” distributor. I ordered it last weekend and it looked like it wasn’t going to arrive until this Wednesday. I checked it today and… it’s at my post office! I’ll get it tomorrow ;)

Last weekend my hubby ordered me a new computer too :) Hes tired of mine always breaking down over the same thing and no one fixes it right. So I get a new one ;) I told him I’d consider it my Christmas present and all I got was… hum?? Not.. Because I need something to open that I don’t know what it is. Hee hee. Gotta love it.

  67. Barb #2975 says:

Hope you heal up quick! Enjoy the murder mysteries!

My good news is my boys getting a head start on their Egyptian projects (models/reports/handouts/presentation) over the weekend. I’m SOO SOO glad this didn’t turn out to be a last minute, between basketball practice, rush job!

I completely missed the crop (sad about that), but I did get some photos sorted and some Christmas shopping done.

Nothing ‘funny’ just trying to make life less crazy!

  68. Suzi #5563 says:

I’m sorry you are not up to crafting. I know how that goes. That’s usually when I have my best inspiration, but can’t get it onto the paper.

What went right this week: I felt pretty good. I thought, I’m gonna enter some of these challenges. I made 2 centerpieces, Christmas cards, birthday cards, glittery cards. It was so much fun. I even got the pictures taken and uploaded.

What went wrong: Then the plug got pulled. No energy left. Just sick again. So nothing got posted onto fiskateers in time. I’m bummed!

Ah, well. Lord willing, this, too, shall pass.
