Last weekend, Project Orange Thumb was in Atlanta for an extreme garden makeover. Volunteers worked in extreme heat to turn a vacant lot into a blossoming garden in just one day!
Where yesterday there was a vacant lot, today the Edgewood community boasts a lush garden. Brightly flowering annuals and perennials, hundreds of delicious vegetables in new raised beds and majestic towering trees create a new gathering place for Edgewood residents.
The garden tools didn’t have all the fun, see those Giant Orange Handled Scissors?

The next Orange Thumb makeover will be in Baltimore, MD on August 27, 2009. Exact details are still being worked out, but mark Your calendar. Volunteers need to RSVP to Nicole at nmayasich@fiskars.com with Your name, address and shirt size.
Do You have a community in mind for an Orange Thumb makeover? Fiskars is looking for locations for 2010. To nominate a location, email orangethumb@fiskars.com.

June 29th, 2009 at 9:58 amI just called my local county garden project to tell them about the Fiskars grants for 2010 and projects. I hope they take advantage of it and submit for it. I took some of my extra flats over to them this spring. What a great thing Fiskars does
