My husband retrieved the mail this evening and handed me a magazine. I had received a copy of “HandCrafted“. It reads, “The Best of Stampington and Company HandCrafted ~ 250+ of our favorite crafting projects“. It features scrapbooking, stamping and papercrafts, home decor, gifts and wearable art. It includes pieces that are selected from Somerset Studio, Belle Armoire, Somerset Memories, Stampington Inspirations, The Stampers’ Sampler, Art Doll Quarterly and Take Ten publications. It’s a beautiful and inspirational cover.
This particular issue (shown above) is Volume 5 and features such artists as Danielle Thompson, Michelle Ward, Lisa Hoffman, Celine Navarro, Jenny Doh, and Angela Cartwright to name a few.
I was wondering if I had gotten a gift subscription or something and was curious as to why I had received this issue but I was sure loving it. I started to thumb through it and I spotted my first layout ever published way back when in the June/July 2006 issue of Somerset Memories (formerly Legacy). The layout is of my mom at the Huntington Beach pier and is dear to me. What a surprise and what a blessing.
I have made some special relationships through my journey of being published and writing in different Somerset issues since 2006. I have enjoyed meeting new people through this avenue and have been so inspired by artists all over the world. I’m blessed to live close to Stampington’s headquarters and each time I go there . . . I’m overwhelmed with such beautiful artwork.
Stampington publications are just so elegant and classy and my favorite of all. I would recommend any of their publications. If you’ve never picked one up I know you would be thoroughly inspired if you did so. You can check out more here . . .

and seen here is Volume 4 . . . the newest one isn’t on the website as of yet.

If I might suggest another wonderful place . . . Stampington’s lovely Shoppe at Somerset. You are sure to find treasures here that you can alter or beautify your projects with.

As well, there is a load of inspiration in the Studio Gallery . . .

I wanted to share with you what a love relationship I have with Stampington publications. In fact, I love them so much that I want to share a copy with you as soon as it is released to the public. So tell me by leaving a comment here . . . what is your favorite Stampington publication or what looks to be the most interesting to you. I’ll pick a winner sometime next week.
You may want to pick up an issue . . . I think you’ll be totally inspired. So many fun projects in this issue. A very common place to find the Somerset/Stampington family of publications is Barnes and Noble or Borders. Take a moment out for you today and enjoy a read. Enjoy the journey.

Thank you for sharing! I would have to say my pick for most interesting is the Take 10 as it allows for making great cards in a short amount of time. Then the Stamper’s sampler because I do love rubberstamping. To be honest all of the magazines look great and I will have to check it out more!

June 24th, 2009 at 9:07 amMy favorite issus is the Summer Sew Somerset one. I don’t get their magazines but a friend of mine from my painting club was published in that issue. I’m historian for the club and made sure to take pictures of her with the magazine so that I can scrap a page so that all future club memembers can see it. I would love to see more about their magazines.

June 25th, 2009 at 11:09 amWow! What a great mail surprise! I love all of their books and mags, and subscribe to Stamper’s Sampler. I buy every Take 10 and love the Catch Up issues. You’re right, this is a very classy publisher, with a whole different view of art. My favorite is the email they send me every week, with new project ideas and new product features. Of course, the gallery is very inspiring too.
