Fiskateer of the Year was Stunning

Wow . . . what an incredible day with incredible Fiskateer friends. There is even more to come. I did want to share with you that we had fun sharing with the group one of the five Fiskateers of the Year . . . Melita Chow. I titled this post . . . the Fiskateer of the Year was Stunning or should I say . . . Stunned. She shares with us a little bit about her reaction.
“I was so excited to be able to attend the Long Beach Fisk-a-friendzy! I knew it would be a wonderful experience, connecting with old friends and making new ones. I was right. I loved seeing all the ladies I have met before and getting to meet a few new friends throughout the whole weekend! I got to spend time with Angela and her Reno contingent (Hi Coleen and Amanda), Legend Stephenie, and the awesome ladies I was seated with on the Queen Mary (Tiffany, Sonya, Sylvia, Mitzi, Daniella, Shawan, Gina, and Trish who was a tour guide on the Queen Mary when she was 18 and gave us a ‘virtual tour’ as well, so cool!)
We were in the middle of the class with Candice Carpenter when Cheryl took a break to introduce a special guest. I have to admit, I was only partially paying attention because I was helping Daniella use her portable rotary trimmer. So when the Captain came out, I thought that was the special guest and continued helping Daniella with the project. A minute or so later, there was lots of applause, everyone was looking at our table and the legendary Stephenie Hamen was telling me, ‘It’s you, get up there’ to which my intelligent response was, ‘What?’. I quickly realized what was going on when I saw the GIANT scissors. I was STUNNED!
It is such an honor and a priviledge to have been selected as one of the five Fiskateers of the Year. I am so humbled to be included with these four ladies. Thank you so much Fiskars for your support of the Fiskateer program and everything you do to make it so special.”
So there you have it . . . Melita . . . congratulations. You know when Melita was caught off guard . . . I was thinking that she was doing what she does well . . . helping another!
I’m so excited that Melita was there with us as we Rocked that Boat! Warmest congratulations Melita! Melita shares a few photos with us . . . Enjoy!
