We Were Cruis’in

Good morning Fiskateers!  I’m so excited to report that at the So. Cal Fiskafriendzy aboard the Queen Mary . . . we were cruis’in and had a blast.  Friends made, crafts created, food consumed, laughs expressed . . . you name it.

ang and I2.jpg

Way to go . . . those of you who made it to and through the crop til midnight!  What troopers . . . thanks Amanda too for being my travel buddy!  We enjoyed the Scrapbook Sisters.

We traveled aboard ships, buses, planes and automobiles to and from the Queen Mary and Aquarium.  I just dropped off the Fiskateer of the Year at the airport . . . you have to wait . . . I’ll share more later.

Want to thank everyone who attended and all those that helped!  What a very incredible special day because of all the special Fiskateers present near and far.

I do want to mention to continue to keep the fiskateers, store owners, friends, law and fire personnel affected by the fires in California in your thoughts and prayers.

Off for now . . . it’s just the beginning of sharing some very fabulous and fun moments ‘on deck’.

Can’t wait to see pictures of the Aquarium. Did anyone have a run in with the Queen Mary’s spectral residents?

I had so much fun! I want to thank you and all the other ladies for such an awesome day! I didn’t go to the dinner (my husband had to “find” me because he was lost) but I sure wish I could have continued the whole adventure. The game that we got to play where we met new friends was so much fun. I wish we could have played 20-25 cards instead of just 10! Well I will have to write an e-mail to mention all the fun and awesome things about the day! Thank you Cheryl!

    Hi Cheryl!

Thank you for a great time yesterday! The goodie tote was amazing, the centerpieces, food, make-and-take, the Queen Mary, you! And a huge thank you for my winnings! I was the grand prize winner and am so ready to bust into that bag and play!

Sadly, my mom and I had to leave before we went into the aquarium. We received a call that there was a fire in Brea. Mom (Angie) lives in Brea and I live just past there in Chino Hills. So we zipped home to make sure everything was okay. The fires was still pretty close to Brea and I had to wait a couple of hours before I could get home to my family because of canyon and freeway closures, but all is well. Please say a prayer for the firefighters!

    Big hugs and many thanks,

    Jennifer

We were having a wonderful time. Jennifer had won the big Southern Calif. package. Lunch was delish. Then we heard about the fires in our area, Brea & Chino Hills. We got as far as getting our tickets at the acquarium but after seeing that big black smoke cloud and being rained upon with ashes, we went home to check on our families. Everyone is fine. Fires have been very close. It was hard for Jennifer to get home with the 57 Fwy and the Canyon being closed. Her hubby works for Edison so it was iffy if he would be even be home. She finally got home around 9:30. Kids were happy to see her. Keeping the tv & radio on, but things seem calmer.
Thank you for the great freebies from Fiskars. We’ll have to get together again in the future.

I had such a good time! Thank you Cheryl (and thanks to your hubby and daughter… Fiskateer #2 1/2). Oh and thank you Fiskars, I’ve used Fiskars products for years but now I feel like I’m part of a big, HAPPY family. All the Fiskateers were so nice. I had the pleasure of sitting next to my awesome friends (Sonja and Tiffany) and I got to meet Melita the Fiskateer of the Year; she’s a sweetheart! Mitzi and her girlfriends were super nice too. Trish and Gina, you were so nice too… everyone was just so cool! On a sad note, the fires were and still are absolutely devastating and we do need to be grateful for our families and we should pray for those who have been hurt by the fires.

Thank you thank you Cheryl!! It was so much fun. I would say my favorite part was listening to you read the letter about the woman who has the father that travelled on the Queen Mary during WWII… and also petting the rays at the aquarium with my little cute short blonde pig-tailed friend! ;)

I had a wonderful time and I want to thank you your crew and everybody I met along the way for making this such a special day. . . I made new friends, met some wonderful talent ladies and Jim, played with some great new tools, saw some fishies, had dinner at the best table in Bubba Gumps and stayed over night on the ship (yes Beth I did see a ghost or two but I always have so that was just kind of cool) and enjoyed some private time with my Honey a very good day indeed.

  29. Amanda 4550 says:

    Cheryl,
Thank you so much. It was such a great event. Thank you, also, for the shout out; I’m just glad we made it back to the hotel since my sense of direction certainly didn’t help. My dear hubby and two girls drove down after the event to meet me (ten hours, brave guy).I am now ready to embark on an add-on vacation to Legoland, The Wild Animal Park, and Disneyland. Thanks Colette, Stephanie, and Angela. I had the best time with you ladies! Cheryl, you really outdid yourself.

What a great day! Thank you Cheryl and Crew. Thanks to Fiskars, Angela, and Stephenie too. There was so much going on and so much fun. I loved meeting so many of my fellow Fiskateers and very much enjoyed our table at the Queen, at Bubba Gumps, and at Scrapbook Sisters. A quick thanks too, to our new friends that were able to advise us on how to drive around the fires. It took a while, but we were able to edge by all the smoke and we were home in 12 hours.

While on the queen, I met a Fiskateer who was evacuated from her home that morning, and later, I could not find her again. Can anyone tell me how she and her family are? I’m sorry, right now, a lot of names are all mixed up in my head, so I can’t tell you hers for sure.

  32. TJ says:

    Cheryl,
You did an outstanding job! You are a RockStar! The Queen Mary was a terrific place to host this event. The entire day was so enjoyable expecially the “meet n greet” with all the ladies.

time and has a special place in my heart. Speaking of my heart…thank you. Only someone as special as you could put on an event like that. Thank you Cheryl, Fiskars and anyone who helped make this an incredable event. Your all rock!

  38. Annie #4658 says:

I have to say, Thank you again! My daughter has told me it’s not offensive to point out that you all thought I was not in costume. No I am not the cool artistic type that dresses in goth, never!! I was all excited and nervous about my “pirate” costume. And then I was given the honor of being thought of as a cool artistic type. It sure made me feel young and cool that I pulled something I didn’t know I had off ;-) ~

Cheryl and All Who Coordinated the Long Beach Fiska Friendzy–

Thanks so much for all your hard work. It was an incredible, exhausting, rewarding day. My Fiska-travel buddy and I stayed through the entire course–from about 8:00 in the morning setting up the ATC table until after midnight at the craft store.

One cool thing about my day: my raffle ticket number was the same as my Fiskateer number (1941). When I got it, I figured that they had organized the tickets that way. (I know–what a doofus.) :-) I didn’t win any prizes with it, but that number sure indicated to me that I was in the right place at the right time–and that was the best prize of all!

I haven’t had a chance to upload my pictures, yet, but there are a couple of the ticket. I also was able to get some really cool pics at the Aquarium, which I can’t wait to share.

To Cheryl, Angela, Your Many Helpers, and Fiskars: your generosity and stamina are amazing.

    Thanks!
