I still have seats available for my Virginia City Fisk-a-Friendzy on November 8th so if you haven’t registered yet, we’d love to have you join us. I thought it would be good to post new video tape or photos from Virginia City but I didn’t make it up there today so if your computer can handle my videos, you can see how I decided to improvise a little bit this afternoon (and if your computer connection makes it hard to follow video, I have re-posted the information for the event below: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-202716652149376090&hl=en I need to hire actors next time but luckily, there are more professional videos about Virginia City on YouTube if you are interested (Like THIS one).
Step back in time with me at the Reno Area Fisk-a-Friendzy event in Virginia City, Nevada on November 8th. Join 100 of your Fisk-a-teer friends for a very FULL day of cropping, prizes, good food, candy (what else would you expect from me?), special guests and even a Virgina City style adventure or two. This is the perfect event for a girlfriend/road trip weekend for one of the biggest Fisk-a-teer events we’ll have in our area all year. So check the message board for other Fisk-a-teers planning on attending- there should be opportunities to carpool and to share rooms- you don’t have to be from Reno to enjoy this fun event and still stick to your budget.
**I can add that the Ramada Inn is letting us keep the crop space all day Sunday until 5 pm also so, while this will not be an official Fisk-a-Friendzy day, you are more than welcome to stay on Sunday and crop then also- I am planning to!)**
When: November 8th, starting at 9 AM
Where do we meet: Cropping and lunch will be at the Ramada Inn in Virginia City
Where to stay? We have a reduced room rate at the Ramada Inn in Virginia City ($89 per room). Call to reserve your room in advance (just say you’re with the Fisk-a-teer event). You can find more information on their website here.
What should I bring? Your basic cropping supplies, clothing suited for cold weather and your most fun (and orange!) Fisk-a-teer inspired apparel.
What’s special about Virginia City? You can learn about this historic town at their website here.
The Fine Print? Unfortunately, space is limited to the first 100 Fisk-a-teers who register. The first 10 people who register will receive a limited edition special prize at the event.
How do I register? Send an email to Carrie at Carrie@brainsonfire.com. Have “Reno Area Regional Event” as your subject title. Include your name, Fisk-a-teer number, address and phone number. Each Fisk-a-teer must send in their own email to register. Carrie will follow-up with you with more details. I will also be sending you a little more information about the event as we get closer to November 8th.
Cost? $20 per person- which includes your reserved space, lunch and snacks, prizes and adventures. (Send check for $20 made out to “Fiskars” to Carrie Woodward c/o Brains on Fire, 148 River St. Suite 100, Greenville, SC 29601)
I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had working on the planning for this event. I am looking forward to hosting a fun-filled crafting Fisk-a-Friendzy with Fisk-a-teers and old friends.
“Back in Time on the Fisk-a-teer Xpress” is definitely THE place to be in the Reno area this fall.

October 11th, 2008 at 9:53 amWhat fun we are going to have. I have been working on my ATC’s. I was so excited about them, I have already posted them. Except, I think Starbucks is going to kick me out. he he. I already have like 70 sleeves, but I am running out of the coffee paper. I have been looking online like crazy. It’s Flair Design, and I bought all that two of my kinda close LSS had. But hey, Nov isn’t here yet!
Angela keep up the great work you are doing. Your video is great. I hope you didn’t make some little kid cry. Or did you just “lift” the little people for a little while. he he.
