Time and Space…to Craft

I’ve been working on my next challenge which has become a ‘double challenge’ for me.

I’ve mentioned that I haven’t had much any craft time lately due to the demands of a newborn and planning an amazing New England Regional Event (hope to see you on the 25th!).  And I’ve also shared how I love challenges.  Since becoming a Lead Fiskateer I have hosted a few challenges but I haven’t been able to complete them, and this really bums me out.  So before I post my next challenge, I’ve challenged myself to complete it first!

I am lucky enought to have a dedicated craft space, but I’m going to try to clear off the kitchen pass-through and use it as my ‘craft base’ for a few days and see if that helps me get some projects done.  A minute here and a minute there, just maybe I’ll be able to get a Layout done.  And besides, my craft room has been completely taken over by boxes for the Regional Event and it’s a little cramped in there.

So stayed tuned for my next challenge and I’ll report in how my ‘craft base’ is working out.

Winners:  Thank you for sharing your favorite crop snacks.  I’m pretty confident that I’ll have all the cravings covered at the Regional.  Congratulations to Karen #344, Sarah #1097 and Kimberlee #2494, you were randomly selected to receive a prize pack.  Email me your address and phone number to kellyjo@fiskateers.com.  And be sure to update your Favorites under your Bio…that’s how I make up your prize pack!

I tried something similar for awhile and it drove me crazy seeing it just sitting there. I found if I put a large box over what I was working on, I could easily walk away and do what ever else needed to be done. Just a thought.

good luck with that craft base! sounds like a good idea…maybe I should create one on the dining room table we just cleared off so I can get inspired!

I can hardly wait to see what kind of a challenge you have in store for us. I hope your craft base works well. I remember the days when my children were young and not much scrapping could happen. I just have a corner of the guest room but it works and I can leave things out if I have no company coming until I complete a project!!

Sounds like a plan ! Maybe you need some sort of “cover” to lay on top of your project so it doesn’t get messed up when you aren’t working on it. … a cutting board… seasonal place mats, something fairly easy to move when you have the time.

    Luck!

I kinda know how you feel - I had my first in April, and had the hardest time finding time to scrap…mine would be sleeping and then as soon as I would sit down to scrap she would wake….arggg…another day I would say.

Good luck with your set up.

Kelly Jo, that really is a good idea! That is how I did my “first” LO. I left it out and went back to it over a course of a week. You’d be surprised what ideas hit you about it while you’re doing other things.
Thanks so much for the RAK!! :) I almost didn’t even “enter.” I did it last minute just b/c I love Flipz too! ;) You know, the Joanns and Michaels carry them by the registers here! :P

sometimes I think we just have to push ourselves. Last nite when I came home to find my scaredy cat punch I got up early this morning & made a layout using it before I went to work. It was a fun tool to play with!
