With the 1st Regional Fisk-a-Friendzy only 19 days away, it’s time to focus on planning the details. Name tags, page kits, games and the all important crop snacks.
I’m a chocolate girl with my favorite snack being chocolate Flipz. But they are hard to find so I improvise. I take 3 M&Ms and 2 pretzel sticks (the ratio of sweet to salty is very important and requires this exact combination!) and munch on them at the same time. Delicious…but I digress.
So I need to know, what’s Your favorite crop snack? Leave a comment here and I will pick a few favorite crop snack winners to send a prize pack to. ***RAK Closed…Winners Picked***
Thanks for Your help!
Congratulations to Sasha! You were the winner of the Compact Stamp Press, Heidi Grace Greetings stamps and Fingertip Craft Knife from my last post. Email me your address and phone number to kellyjo@fiskateers.com.

October 6th, 2008 at 7:49 pmMy favorite party snack has to be creamcheese salsa dip.
You need:
1 tub of light cream cheese - room temp
1 cup of light mayo
1/2 pack of shreded cheese
1/2 onion diced up
1/2 green pepper diced up
1 tomato diced up
Salsa
Mix: Cream cheese and mayo together. Lay it down at the bottom of a pie dish, layer with salsa, top that with green peppers, onions and tomato…spread cheese on top.
Serve with Tosito’s - preferably the scoops kind..makes less mess.

October 6th, 2008 at 7:56 pmMy favorite crop snack is my Ranch party mix. This is the simplest recipe ever and completely addicting!
1/2 bag mini twist pretzles
1 bag oyster crackers
1 bag plain (not cheese) gold fishes
1/2 box chex cereal
3/4 c. Orville R. Butter flavored popping oil
1 packet Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix (*not the dip mix)
Put all ingredients in a large bowl with a lid. Cover and shake every hour. It’s better if you let it sit over night. Open it up during your next crop and enjoy but be warned it is addicting!

Whatever I can make from my cupboard…yummm I think I’ll mix some up for the next crop!

October 6th, 2008 at 8:19 pmwhen I have the time(and this really takes no time at all to prepare) I like my turtles bites. lay out the mini pretzels (I like the square ones) on a baking sheet. Top each one with a rolo (one bag of rolos will do about 48 turtle bites) put the tray in the oven at 200 for about 3-4 minutes. then press a pecan into each one. Cool and eat.

October 6th, 2008 at 9:17 pmVicki- your turtle bites sound so GOOD!!! I’m going to try to make those!! I like swedish fish while I scrap, but not while I use embossing powders. I’ve found there is a fishy residue that embossing powder will stick to.

Laurie U. # 2630 says:
October 7th, 2008 at 1:02 amMy favorite:
1 pkg. Almond Bark (quick candy), chocolate or vanilla - I prefer vanilla!
2 cups Cap’n Crunch Peanut Butter cereal
2 cups pretzel sticks
2 cups miniature marshmallows
2 cups dry roasted peanuts
Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl, set aside.
Microwave almond bark for 1 minute and then 15 second intervals, stirring often until completely melted.
Pour over dry mixture and stir until evenly coated.
Spread out on foil in thin layer. Let set/harden.
Break into small pieces. ENJOY!
The name of this recipe varies. I’ve heard it called “Mmm Mmm Almond Bark”, “White Trash”, “Snowman Poop”… I affectionately call it “A Little Piece of Heaven!”
YUMMY!
Blessings,
Laurie U.

October 7th, 2008 at 5:29 amI try not to snack while I’m scrapping as I hate anything that leaves me with sticky/messy fingers. One thing I do keep in my scraproom is hard candies…my favorite being Kerr’s Chocolate Mint. Other than those, I also like M&M plain as they don’t leave you with messy fingers.

Problem is I have to have wipes and napkins handy, because my hands get orangy. lol If you ever find orange finger prints on my scrapbook pages, being kind of camaflaged, you’ll know I’ve been snacking… he he he

October 7th, 2008 at 8:06 amI’ve never been to an actual crop ! But when crafting here at home , the snack is whatever is on hand at the time.
I’m definitely a sweet and salty gal! Love things that are bite size and not messy. Nothing worse than completing a project and then finding a chocolate shmear on it! ggrr.
Diet coke, coffee and hot tea..yumm
Right now, there are oatmeal choc chip cookies sitting way too close !
Linh says:
October 7th, 2008 at 9:18 amI don’t snack when I’m scrapping at home by myself. At crops, however, I will take breaks and eat peanut M&M’s. I recently found that many scrappers like diet Dr. Pepper and I’ve started drinking those too!
Turtlelady~Sandy #1715 says:
October 7th, 2008 at 9:18 amMy snacks have had to change, now that I am diabetic. I love the peanut butter cheese crackers. They last quite awhile too :=) Got to make those snacks last!!
gw says:
October 7th, 2008 at 9:25 amThat “Snowman poop” sounds sooo good. My belly’s growlin’.
I have to put my vote toward the M&M’s, though I am trying to eat right and it’s too easy to go through a whole big bag in a long night cropping with friends. I sometimes bring sweet, spicy little ginger snaps, and Diet Dr. Pepper.
Sarah #3020 says:
