Crop Snacks

With the 1st Regional Fisk-a-Friendzy only 19 days away, it’s time to focus on planning the details.  Name tags, page kits, games and the all important crop snacks.

I’m a chocolate girl with my favorite snack being chocolate Flipz.  But they are hard to find so I improvise.  I take 3 M&Ms and 2 pretzel sticks (the ratio of sweet to salty is very important and requires this exact combination!) and munch on them at the same time.  Delicious…but I digress.

So I need to know, what’s Your favorite crop snack?  Leave a comment here and I will pick a few favorite crop snack winners to send a prize pack to.  ***RAK Closed…Winners Picked***

Thanks for Your help!

Congratulations to Sasha!  You were the winner of the Compact Stamp Press, Heidi Grace Greetings stamps and Fingertip Craft Knife from my last post.  Email me your address and phone number to kellyjo@fiskateers.com.

My favorite party snack has to be creamcheese salsa dip.

    You need:
1 tub of light cream cheese - room temp
    1 cup of light mayo
    1/2 pack of shreded cheese
    1/2 onion diced up
    1/2 green pepper diced up
    1 tomato diced up
    Salsa

Mix: Cream cheese and mayo together. Lay it down at the bottom of a pie dish, layer with salsa, top that with green peppers, onions and tomato…spread cheese on top.

Serve with Tosito’s - preferably the scoops kind..makes less mess.

My favorite crop snack is my Ranch party mix. This is the simplest recipe ever and completely addicting!

    1/2 bag mini twist pretzles
    1 bag oyster crackers
1 bag plain (not cheese) gold fishes
    1/2 box chex cereal
3/4 c. Orville R. Butter flavored popping oil
1 packet Hidden Valley ranch dressing mix (*not the dip mix)

Put all ingredients in a large bowl with a lid. Cover and shake every hour. It’s better if you let it sit over night. Open it up during your next crop and enjoy but be warned it is addicting!

    I’m a serious choc-oholic. I just like having Hershey’s Kisses around.

  5. karen #344 says:

My favorite snack is a trail mix type concoction but it must include dried cranberries and raisins and almonds and something a bit salty like mini pretzals and a touch of chocolate like mini M & M’s or chocolate chips!! Whatever I can make from my cupboard…yummm I think I’ll mix some up for the next crop!

  6. Debbie C 4668 says:

Red twizzler licorce …dipped in chocolate is even yummier!!!!

  7. jen #1831 says:

No question … peanut M&M’s. Perfect for scrapping! YUM!!

  8. vicki in MD says:

when I have the time(and this really takes no time at all to prepare) I like my turtles bites. lay out the mini pretzels (I like the square ones) on a baking sheet. Top each one with a rolo (one bag of rolos will do about 48 turtle bites) put the tray in the oven at 200 for about 3-4 minutes. then press a pecan into each one. Cool and eat.

  9. LinRebec W says:

the best way to go is some gummy candy and a cup of tea…i wonder how many cups of tea i drink when i scrapbook??:P

  10. Chelle #4460 says:

i usually try to not eat while scrapping, but i do have a favorite snack. Nutter Butter cookies. ive actually had to force myself not to buy them because i will eat the whole package by myself. mmm… now i really want some.

  11. VickiF says:

    congrats!!

  12. Kristin in OH #2764 says:

Basically, anything chocolate. I make a crock pot brownie recipe that I submitted to the Fiskateers cookbook. Perfect amount of chocolatety-ness & I can eat it with a spoon, so I don’t have to worry about sticky fingers.

  13. Melissa S. says:

    Almond M&Ms! The best!

  14. Michelle 3624 says:

  18. Christine C#2264 says:

M&M’s for the sweet and cheese and crackers with relish for the savoury.

I tend not to eat too much, especially when I crop late at night, but I always love an ice cold Dr. Pepper on hand!

  20. Christina Solloway says:

Vicki- your turtle bites sound so GOOD!!! I’m going to try to make those!! I like swedish fish while I scrap, but not while I use embossing powders. I’ve found there is a fishy residue that embossing powder will stick to.

  21. Paula :) says:

The bomb-diggity of all crop snacks is M&M’s however in this current holiday season we are in, candy corn is also a necessity! :)

  22. Jenny E #4154 says:

Here in NZ we get Cadbury’s Favourites - these are little mini chocolates of all the “favourite” Cadbury chocs. I like those - they are small enough to eat in one bite

For me it’s red twizzler licorice, when I’m all done or taking a break or a Herseys kiss that I can just pop into my mouth.

  30. KateB says:

  36. Laurie U. # 2630 says:

    My favorite:

1 pkg. Almond Bark (quick candy), chocolate or vanilla - I prefer vanilla!
2 cups Cap’n Crunch Peanut Butter cereal
    2 cups pretzel sticks
    2 cups miniature marshmallows
    2 cups dry roasted peanuts

Mix all dry ingredients in a large bowl, set aside.
Microwave almond bark for 1 minute and then 15 second intervals, stirring often until completely melted.
Pour over dry mixture and stir until evenly coated.
Spread out on foil in thin layer. Let set/harden.
    Break into small pieces. ENJOY!

The name of this recipe varies. I’ve heard it called “Mmm Mmm Almond Bark”, “White Trash”, “Snowman Poop”… I affectionately call it “A Little Piece of Heaven!”
    YUMMY!

    Blessings,
    Laurie U.

  37. doverdi says:

I try not to snack while I’m scrapping as I hate anything that leaves me with sticky/messy fingers. One thing I do keep in my scraproom is hard candies…my favorite being Kerr’s Chocolate Mint. Other than those, I also like M&M plain as they don’t leave you with messy fingers.

  38. Vanessa #598 says:

    PUPPY CHOW!

    Chex cereal
    Chocolate nuggets
    Peanut butter nuggets
    One stick of butter
    Powdered Sugar

Heat Butter, chocolate and peanut butter and mix

Stir it in with the cereal then add powdered sugar and refridgerate

    YUM!

  39. Chantal Berry #4485 says:

My favourite snack is Jalapino Doritos, ummmmmmmm not too spicy, just a tangny spice. Problem is I have to have wipes and napkins handy, because my hands get orangy. lol If you ever find orange finger prints on my scrapbook pages, being kind of camaflaged, you’ll know I’ve been snacking… he he he

  40. Patty 2832 says:

I’ve never been to an actual crop ! But when crafting here at home , the snack is whatever is on hand at the time.

I’m definitely a sweet and salty gal! Love things that are bite size and not messy. Nothing worse than completing a project and then finding a chocolate shmear on it! ggrr.

Diet coke, coffee and hot tea..yumm

Right now, there are oatmeal choc chip cookies sitting way too close !

  41. Linh says:

I don’t snack when I’m scrapping at home by myself. At crops, however, I will take breaks and eat peanut M&M’s. I recently found that many scrappers like diet Dr. Pepper and I’ve started drinking those too!

  42. Turtlelady~Sandy #1715 says:

My snacks have had to change, now that I am diabetic. I love the peanut butter cheese crackers. They last quite awhile too :=) Got to make those snacks last!!

  43. gw says:

That “Snowman poop” sounds sooo good. My belly’s growlin’. :) I have to put my vote toward the M&M’s, though I am trying to eat right and it’s too easy to go through a whole big bag in a long night cropping with friends. I sometimes bring sweet, spicy little ginger snaps, and Diet Dr. Pepper.

  44. Sarah #3020 says:

gummy bears!! but a chocolate fountain would be nice.

  45. Cindy Brooking #2059 says:

my favorite crop snack is gorp. M&M’s, raisins, and peanuts all mixed together. Salty, sweet, crunchy, and chewy all in one great “won’t melt in your hands” snack!

  46. Jena #220 says:

My favorite crop snack is Cadburry mini chocolate eggs. However, they are only out for a few month of the year. I will be hosting my own crop in a few weeks and will be looking through the comments to come up with good ideas.

  47. lydia #3510 says:

my FAV is peanut M&M, chocolate almond and potatoes chips and of course lots of coffee..:)

  48. Annie #1326 says:

I like to eat Reese mini Peanut Butter cups, Dove Milk Chocolate is i don’t have the peanutbutter cups– I have to admit I do put the whole thing in my month at once. And Pretzel sticks I like them because they are easy to eat. i also like Chex turtle mix (it comes already mixed in a bag)It has carmel & chocolate covered cereal, pretzels and popcorn. It also has peanutbutter & chocolate candy peices in it.

    Have fun at your crop!

  49. Sara R. says:

Lately I’ve been doing the “Fiskateer orange and green” snacks…tangerin and lime Jelly Bellies, cheese crackers, green apples, etc. It’s fun to have a theme! :)

  50. Marla #3291 says:

I would have to say my favorite crop snack would be anything chocolateand of course something salty would be great also like potato chips but pretzels would be a better option because they arent as greasy!!

  51. Mardi says:

“The name of this recipe varies. I’ve heard it called “Mmm Mmm Almond Bark”, “White Trash”, “Snowman Poop”… I affectionately call it “A Little Piece of Heaven!”
