Six Fiskars Punches. One Halloween Layout.

As you all know, Lead Fisk-a-teers occasionally teach classes and make appearances at local scrapbook stores throughout the states.  When we go to these stores, the projects that we present are usually ones that we have created ourselves.

Since I usually travel to stores and locations within a short drive of my home, I occasionally find some Fisk-a-groupies following me around to each location.  (Yes, I do feel like a Rockstar at times.  And who knows, someday I just might have my own tour bus to totally rock things out! LOL!)  When this occurs, to keep things new an exciting, I find myself creating different make-and-takes for each location or each day of the event.

I’m often asked, “Who (or what) inspires You?”  For me, some of the places I find inspiration are magazines, books, boxes of food on the grocery store shelves and… the projects right here in the Fisk-a-teer gallery.  This summer I stumbled across a layout in our Fisk-a-teer gallery created by Robindiane #2953.  What caught my eye in this layout was how she used various sizes of rectangles and how they simply overlapped each other.

I love this community for the inspiration and support that we give and receive to our Fisk-a-friends.   Each of us come here not only to share our own talents, but see the talents of others.  So, with Robindianne’s permission, I have “Fisk-a-lifted” parts of the basic sketch of her layout for a quick make-and-take project I created for an appearance this weekend.  In my layout, I left room for the make-and-take participants to add their own title and journaling if they so desire.   I used Heidi Grace Jeepers Creepers papers, all four of the new Halloween Squeeze Punches (love them!), a border corner punch and the popular Threading Water Border Punch.  That’s right… six Fiskars punches in one Halloween layout.

This Sunday, October 5th I’ll be at Great Scraps in Millersville, MD.  Customers who stop by will have the opportunity to create this layout as a FREE make-and-take during their Fiskars Demo Day.  So if you are in the area, be sure to stop by and say hello! And if you are not in the area, I have a challenge for you.  I hope my layout inspires you to go punch crazy and create a new layout using six different punches.  Share your layout in the gallery and include the link here in your comments listing the six different punches you used before October 13th.  Now remember, you can only use six punches in this challenge, no more, no less.

I picked up one extra Halloween Squeeze Punch at a local store when I bought mine last week and if you follow all of the steps of this challenge listed here, I’ll pick one random challenge participant and send them my extra punch!  Happy punching!

***edit*** a winner has been selected for this challenge.  Congratulations to  Christina S. #4635.  Please send me your mailing address so I can get your package out in the mail.

What if we don’t have six different punches? I might (I never did count them), I’m just saying… for those who don’t…

  2. Merlene says:

Good use of lots of Fiskars punches. Nice make & take.

  3. Lorraine says:

Does it have to be Halloween punches.

  4. melita says:

    Fun!!

  6. Wendy Jo says:

You can use ANY six Fiskars punches… squeeze punches, hole punches, border punches, corner punches, and old cassette punches just to name a few. They don’t have to be the new Halloween punches or scallop punches, becasue they are so hard to find. But, if you have found them, you can use them too. Different shapes and sizes are counted as their own individual punch. Does that make sense?

  7. Michelle 3624 says:

Nope I only have four punches wondering if I will visit someone with more punches this weekend!

  8. Wendy Jo says:

…and for those who don’t have six punches, I want to make it fair for everyone…so…how about adding decorative edge scissors into the mix? Just use as many punches you have up to the six and use the decorative edge scissors as a subsitute.

  9. Lene says:

OK, good deal! (as someone around the age of 4 says in this house)

  10. Michelle 3624 says:

Nope no decorative scissors either I bet your wonder what I have now! . . . Don’t worry be happy! :0)

Sorry to say that I HAVE way to MANY PUNCHES - a couple of drawers full - a slight addiction I believe. Here is my layout using: threading water, corner/border punch, funky love, star, circle, and may flowers punch.

Whew that was hard work coming up with something that makes a bit of sense.
Anyways I used the small tippy toes, rope, lace, extra large oopsie daisy, dancing daisy circle punch and the 4-1 Joy of Spring embossing punch. Is that 6?
