I’m Embarassed to Admit This…. **Winner Chosen**

but I have never sharpened any of my scissors! How can that be? As someone who does a lot of sewing, I know that there’s nothing better for slicing through fabric (and paper) than a sharp pair of scissors! Why on earth do I keep struggling with dull ones? Well, today I am resolving to keep my scissors sharp from now on! I found the handy-dandy Fiskars scissor sharpener, and I plan on using it!
How many of you out there have never sharpened any of your scissors, or haven’t done it for years? If you’re brave enough to admit it, leave a comment here by 11 pm EST tonite and I’ll pick TWO courageous souls to win a scissors sharpener!

I’ve got a pair of Gingher ones I’ve had for over 20 years…and they are still as sharp as the day they were given to me as a gift…love them. I would love to have the sharpener it would help ease my fear!!

I have waaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too many scissors. I have considered having some of them professionally sharpened but never followed through. Now what I need to worry about is removing the sticky gunk off of several pairs!

September 30th, 2008 at 10:16 amI have one of those little orange fiskars sharpeners but have only used it about 4 times in the 10 years I’ve had it. I find Fiskars scissors stay sharp for a long time….still have a sharp large ergo scissors that I use almost everyday on fabric.

September 30th, 2008 at 10:48 amI take mine to be sharpened on a regular basis. There is a guy that comes to our local JoAnn’s once a month and does a fantastic job. I would encourage anyone that has a good pair of Ghinger’s to have them professionally sharpened.

I’d keep telling myself that the next time I went to JoAnn’s I’d take them. But I always forget. Maybe this is my “WAKE UP” call. I just need to take them and put them in my car. Now, the next step will be to get them from the car to the store.

September 30th, 2008 at 1:59 pmYears ago my dh bought me a pair of Fiskars scissors that came with a small handheld sharpener. The sharpener itself was only about the size of a fifty cent piece. I loved that thing! BUT unfortunately, I lost it.
I sure do miss that thing…that was the only time in my life when I actually sharpened my scissors.

I’ve have my kitchen knifes sharpened before but to lazy with the scissors. A tool to do it at home that actually worked… now that would be something worth buying!! (or winning)
