When Laura Casey, Fiskateer #1943 emailed me and said that she was visiting Yankee Candle during her vacation last week, I placed her on a Special Fisk-a-Friendzy Assignment. Below is her Special Assignment Report.
While on our way back from our vacation on Cape Cod, we took a little detour since we were going right past it…yep, Yankee Candle!! It was a beautiful day and great for taking some photos! When we first pulled in, we couldn’t get over how BIG it was!! First, the flowers, pumpkins (a 472 pound beauty!), sitting areas and aromas!
We first entered the store (surprised ??)…The first thing we saw, were the new holiday candles and decorations….Halloween and Thanksgiving and general fall.
Then…CANDY!! Yum…candies, popcorn, and CHOCOLATES!
Walking thru the doorway, we were surrounded by Christmas!! It even snows INSIDE!!
All around us were jars and jars of candles!! Fruit, Floral, Fresh, and Holiday scents were everywhere!!
Following around the building, were household goods, kitchen accessories, serving dishes…and a wall of Vera Bradley designer bags !!
We headed for the Wax Works where folks were making candles and dipping their hands in wax for a unique souvenier. There is even a candle there, that if you lit it, it would burn for 7 years!!
There were SO many many things to look at inside the store….I had to save some fun for the Regional! We then went out the door, where they were popping FRESH Kettle Corn and followed the path around to the restaurant where we will be having lunch. We had already eaten, but asked a few coming out how lunch was…and they all said “Wonderful!”. The Candle Museum had a sign that said “Will be open Soon!”…so maybe it will be in time for our day!
We were there about an hour… I can’t wait to spend more time there… really looking around and SHOPPING!! It really is a wonderfully festive place!!
Thank YOU, Laura, for your Special Report. I am now more excited than ever for our Fall Fisk-a-Friendzy. There are still spots available, so if you are interested email carrie@brainsonfire.com before October 11th to reserve your spot!
