A Beautiful Mess

I spent months hoping to be chosen as a Lead Fiskateer but there was always this question in the back of mind- what exactly would I be doing? Well, now I know and I thought I would share with you what it’s like for a day in the life of a Lead Fiskateer. I can’t speak for the other Leads (and I’m sure their days are quite different) but the best way to describe one of my days? A beautiful mess.

Take this week for example, it was my little boy’s first week at a new school & my little girl’s first week without her brother to entertain her. I also remembered I had a project due to a manufacturer (I just had my first board book design accepted and produced at C & T Publishing- I can’t wait to share what it is later-when I am allowed to- but I put a sneak peek in here- it’s the one with blue buttons), my friend and Fisk-a-teer and president of the DSNNN Colette (hi Colette!) needed some product to promote her first charity crop in town, and I had lots of sticky notes taped to my wall with things I needed to do for various Fisk-a-teers here- including making little favors to bring with me when I stop by crops and stores around town. There were so many things to do and all of them were fun so my little girl and I got right to work- making a HUGE mess on my scrap room floor. I thought you would like to see how my room looks when I’ve had a busy crafting week. I wish I were more organized and tidy in the middle of chaos (you can see photos of my room all cleaned up HERE) but usually, I end up with this- a beautiful mess. I think of it as proof that my little girl and I had a fun, productive and crafty week before she goes off to kindergarten on Tuesday.

Isn’t that so much better than the person who has nothing to do and is bored out of their tree? I too have “piles”, but wouldn’t trade the work and craziness for anything!!!

  7. Wendy Gibson says:

When I saw the title I thought Love Elise was going to be a guest. That’s the name of her blog. LOL My mother keeps wanting to help me clean my studio up! LOL It is a beautiful mess and I know where everything is at!

Sorry dd is missing db but it is nice that you are having this one on one time with her isn’t it? My oldest starts school on Tuesday and youngest on the next Tuesday. So I get that one week alone with my youngest :)

yup! seen my room looking that way….luckily I can close my door & try not to stress out about it. I did spy a pink rolodex in that mess & thought oh my….I’ve been looking for 1 of those just becuz I seen how they altered all the pages that are in there….so seeing as you have 1 put that on your list of things to do (then I can feel like I got 1 thing done on my list lol)!

  14. Angela says:

Louise: Good eye! That is just a regular black rolodex from an office supply store I spray painted it pink (I even did an extra layer of spray paint- silver glitter!).
