Sneak Peek - Craft Knife - Fiskaneers Are The Best

I must share this lovely story. Okay, let me tell you that the Fiskaneers (the engineers at Fiskars . . . they named themselves) are the very best. They are the greatest guys. They listen, they want the best, they care about crafters and what they want and need, they are innovative and creative and they are just all around great guys.
Well, us original four leads (Stephenie, May, Holly and myself) were all back in Madison one time when they handed us a prototype of the fingertip craft knife. Oh my . . . this was so innovative and it was a great tool in itself. They asked us to try it out and tell them honestly what we thought. I loved the tool but I suggested putting a swivel on the end of the blade for easier manuevering of the tool. Well, Ted took that to heart. See Ted work!
A couple weeks later in the mail I received a package from Fiskars and it was a prototype of the fingertip craft knife with a swivel blade on the end and a little note from Ted asking me to try it out, keep it and tell him what I thought but of course to keep it as we call it in law enforcement (10-35 - very confidential). He mentioned that I and he were the only ones that had one in the world. Imagine that. That’s because again our Fiskaneers really care and want to hear honest feedback as to what we need and want as crafters. Is that cool or what?
Fiskars is a company that listens, cares and a group of engineers that are awesome. I will forever hold that story close to my heart as a crafter and a person. So thanks Ted and all the Fiskaneers for what you do! See the Fiskaneers.
Thanks Fiskars and Fiskaneers . . . you’re the best. And guess what? You will soon be able to purchase your very own fingertip craft knife with the same. They are an excellent value! Regular craft knives run about $5. Check it out the new Fingertip craft knife with the blade that swivels here . . .

July 10th, 2008 at 11:58 pmI love the craft knife and a swivel blade will be even better. The craft knife got me a job… I was buying one at my LSS and they asked me what it was I opened the package and showed them it right there. I also told them I was a CFD and if they wanted me to show their customers I would be happy to. I later applyed for some extra work their and when i went in for an interview the manager said “oh, its you. you know all about the products” I got the job!

July 11th, 2008 at 9:07 amWhen I saw the summer products released at CHA, I thought, “Wow! What a clever idea! I’ve got to get one of those…”
I love that the Fiskaneers really look for feedback from actual crafters — wow! imagine that: a company that actually wants its products to be useful to the end consumer!!! That still happens?!?!?! (grin)
I’m also excited because I responded to one of the Fiskaneers surveys about aesthetic designs for paper trimmers, and now I see that one of those designs I was so excited about is released at summer CHA!!! I absolutely cannot wait until they come to a store near me…
Thanks, Fiskaneers! And thanks to you, Cheryl, for thinking of the swivel feature on the fingertip craft knife!

July 11th, 2008 at 2:26 pmCheryl, I LOVE that story. How cool, that you had one of only two in the whole world!!! Wow!
I have this (well, not the swivel) and love it. I can’t wait for the swivel version to be available because I will be buying several. This is definately a product that I will use a lot. This is also a perfect product to send to secret sisters, give to friends, use as door prizes, the list just goes on and on. If the swivel is affordable like the regular one, I will be buying a whole bunch of these.

And I have RAKed out 5 of them just recently, 4 of which went over seas cuz they couldn’t find them there. So watch out Fiskars - I WILL be stocking up on these as my only wish on the original was I wanted it to swivel! WELL DONE FISKANEERS! (did I spell that right?)
