From 0 to 4800 - how do they do it?

Can you imagine having over 4800 kids in two years?
Yikes! I was tired (and still am) after having two kids in two years (well, technically fifteen and a half months)! Yes, it was a little tough when they were both running around in diapers at the same time, but as they grew, things got easier. Imagine what it must be like for Fiskars-they are thrilled that our little family has grown beyond their wildest dreams, but there are, of course, going to be some growing pains along the way. Just like family, we need to be patient with each other and get through the rough spots. They have all worked so hard to make sure the site was only down for a little while because they know that we all need our daily fix (me included), so of course there are going to be a few glitches here and there. If you have an issue or glitch to report, please send an email to webmaster1@fiskateers.com. They are working very hard to resolve everything and address everyone’s concerns.
I loved this site from the minute I joined two years ago, even though I belonged to several others. Why? Because it is a positive, sharing, caring, creative community- a “big little family”, so to speak. It’s a sense of real community that I’ve never gotten anywhere else. So please, remember why we all love this community so much and be patient with us while we get through these growing pains (and just be glad that you don’t have to change 4800 diapers)!
******************STOP THE PRESSES!!!!!!!*****************
According to the Diaper Calculator, I have changed over 10,000 diapers! Wow, that calls for a celebration! So, I will draw a random name from anyone that leaves a comment here for some Fiskars goodies. However, there’s a catch-you’ll have to be PATIENT because I want to include some fun things from the new CHA releases and they’re not quite ready yet!

July 3rd, 2008 at 4:21 pmWay to go Rebecca and thanks for the email. That’s so much better than listing things wrong on the boards.

July 3rd, 2008 at 4:51 pmWell said Rebecca! :~) I agree, this has always been a wonderful board to be a part of, it is like a “family.” We are all here for the love of crafting & Fiskars, but we also support one another in so many other ways. Change can be hard on some, but this is Fiskars we’re talking about here…they always do something grand, and I’m sure they won’t dissappoint us!Once the new site is up & running it will be even more WONDERFUL I’m sure!

July 3rd, 2008 at 5:42 pmWell said Rebecca! I was one of the ones left behind for almost 2 days with the new board changes. I contacted Cheryl, who submitted my email to CJ & he immediately contacted me & resolved the problems. Like anything new it takes awhile to work out all the glitches. I for one appreciate all the time & hard work that CJ & his team have put in creating this new board & resolving this issues that have come up with the changes. They deserve a HUGE round of applause for all their hard work. Yeah CJ & team.

July 3rd, 2008 at 5:46 pmfirst off- laughing so hard!!! and I couldn’t agree more. I’m totally grateful that we have access while they work the bugs out (vs having site down for a week or two!)
lorig says:
July 3rd, 2008 at 5:47 pmThanks for keeping us up to date on what is going on. The email address is a help as well for those who can not log in it gives a way to let them know the glitches we have found. I live with an IT person and have helped him debug, I would rather be crafting. So I am going back to crafting and hope to have projects to post once the bugs are squashed and I can access the board and gallery.
Lisa #1989 says:
July 3rd, 2008 at 6:03 pmI can be patient while the bugs are being worked out………..but I’d love to have fun while we wait! Do you have any fun up your sleeve?

July 3rd, 2008 at 6:25 pmOk Rebecca,
I love your sense of humor! Seems that patience is a virtue! I don’t know about all of you, but change seems to happen to me everyday of my life! You must roll with it, just remember change can be a really good thing! It might seem cheezy, but I love the warm, funny, caring, encouraging, friendly people I have met on this site.
Bonnie says:
July 3rd, 2008 at 6:26 pmtotally!!!! VERY WELL SAID!!! I know we can all be a bit impatient at times, but WE really need to be kind to the wonderful employees who are working diligently to “fix” the glitches!!! take a deep breath, relax, go scrap - if these “glitches” are the worst we have to deal with - well, then all that I can say is, WE ARE SO BLESSED!!!

July 4th, 2008 at 12:30 pmHave to say that this was a very s..m..o..o..t..h… transition for all of us Fiskateers with all the new changes and thank you to Fiskars, CJ & all who have worked tirelessly to get all this done for us so we don’t lose touch or have withdrawls. Trust me when I comment on the smooth transition here at this site, my place of employment decided to make some changes that were a total nightmare (mind you that these changes were going to reduce the time needed to perform duties only causing me to work many, many unpaid overtime hours just to back peddle and re-create information from 6 mons prior and contine with regular duties) Hats off to you Fiskars Thank you!!!!!! =)
Brenmarie says:
July 4th, 2008 at 12:54 pmWell I have two brothers younger then me. But I have only changed the youngest ones diapers. I think I would go nuts if I would count all the diapers I have changed. The family I babysat has 6 kids and there were 2 in diapers at all times till the two years ago.
Michelle #4235 says:
July 4th, 2008 at 1:04 pm10,000 diapers - wow. Since I have two kids also, guess that means I did it too. But remarkably, mine were cloth. Sheesh - the things we do! Thanks for the chance to win. New stuff from CHA - I hope it’s me!

It doesn’t matter if there are 4,800 members or 48,000 members if only 48 of them take part on the boards.

Deborah Malbone says:
July 6th, 2008 at 6:53 pmLOL about the diaper calculator!!! Ya know, I stopped counting diapers on day one because I changed so many. To think that I have changed like 20,000 of my children’s diapers is just flooring me! Even more than the changing…the expense! I am so glad that is finally behind me and I am so looking forward to the next “steps” in my girls’ lives

I have 4 kids and I am afraid to know how many diapers that I have changed… I am afraid I would have to have some kind of therapy after the number popped up from the diaper calculator!
Love all that you are doing and I am excited to be a small part of it!

This is much easier I can tell you that. The boards look great and I am sure all the kinks will work out sooner or later.

I also love that the Fiskateers didn’t let the old design slow us down one bit. Very cool. Thanks Fiskars!

July 9th, 2008 at 3:40 amgrowing pains are always difficult. it is our committment to making this board the best it can be, thus requiring patience and faith. Think of the process as an adventure
