Crop From the Heart

Oh my . . . some days . . . the heart works overtime.  I wanted to share with you about an event that I attended last Saturday . . . the From the Heart crop held at the Red Bee in Tustin.  Donna Salazar (a real sweetheart and friend) had the vision of putting together an event that would share some love with a family that has incurred a great loss.  The proceeds of the event went to Priscilla and her four beautiful young children.  Other individuals and organizations like Scrapbook Royalty then jumped in.  It was a blessing seeing all the love that was exchanged throughout this event.

You can read more about the event on Donna’s blog and Stephanie Ackerman’s as well.

They are still tallying up the proceeds for this event on the Scrapbook Royalty blog and you can read more about it here.

I had a warm welcome by friends and Fiskateers . . . Donna, Candice (who is now working at the Red Bee),  Stephanie, Deena, Elena, Gloria, Renee, and others.  It was a warm welcome and it was nice to spend some time sharing with one another and participating in such an event.  It was also wonderful to meet new friends like Michael and others.

It was a day that really touched the heart.

To read more about the “From the Heart” event or if you’d like to help you can check out more here.

Here’s a few photos from the event.

Blessings.  Make the day count . . . share your heart with another.

That is SO neat! It is such a good thing when scrappers come together to help others. Some of the people at our local LSS have organized a charity crop to benefit our friend Mary-Jo who just lost her husband after an accident he had about 8 weeks ago. People have donated gift baskets and embellished matching tissue box covers - there are 14 gifts up for raffle! And people can pledge an amount per page for the total number of pages done that day or a flat pledge. It’s this coming Saturday. I’ll be posting a blog entry about it. Anyway, all this to say that scrappers are some of the most awesome people and can make a huge difference.
