What were fisk-a-teers around the United States doing for National Scrapbook Day weekend? May sent some little goodies and asked several fiskateers will report in. First up: Fiskateer Wendy Jo reports in from Maryland…
There’s no better way to spend the day then attending a 12-hour crop! Now twelve hours may seem like a long time to a non-scrapbooker, but believe you me, the time flew by so quickly, I thought it was all a dream.
I spent the day at my local scrapbook store, Scrapmania! in Hagerstown, Maryland. The store was filled with happy scrappers all day long. I’m talking non-stop lines! It was a beautiful sight to see. But the sight didn’t surprise me at all because the store owner Sherrie and her staff really do know how to put on a show with great displays and tons of Fiskars product for sale. I’m glad that I managed to take a few photos early in the day because by the end of the day, there was only 1 Fiskars Corner & Border punch hanging on the the shelf.
Although I was the only Fiskateer lucky enough to have a spot reserved for this sold out crop, there were several Fiskateer sightings through out the day in the store. One Fiskateer who stopped by to say “hello” during the crop was Vicki #2122. She had and exciting week leading up to NSD because Vicki met May in Hershey while she was on her east coast tour. Now how cool is that?!
Crop participants were already lined up at the door during a light rain drizzle, 30 minutes prior to opening ready to grab their spots for the day. As we entered the crop room, there were several gifts already placed at each participants chairs…sweet! Not to mention throughout the day many giveaways and door prizes including some Fiskars items. Speaking of that, since I was in attendance, I had to do my “Fiskateer of the Year” thing by RAKing some cool Fiskars items throughout the day too! Now you’re probably wondering if I got anything accomplished throughout the day. You bet I did!!! I chatted with croppers and customers; did demos with squeeze punches, and corner & border punches; and munched on peanut butter cups and Twizzlers all day long! Ahh, it doesn’t get any better than that! And that’s how I spent the majority of the day. I even managed to get a few quick and simple pages completed as well as some special upcoming projects. May provided me with one of the new Cloud 9 Mat Stacks (Sunrise Smoothie) and asked me to share something that I made with it during the crop. Here’s the end results…
