Laura Casey, Fiskateer #1943
Being considered for an NSD Finalist is such an honor! I love everything about being HERE…I love the friendships, the sharing, the laughing and even the crying! We are community…we are family. We are watching each others children grow. What an honor! These kids are lucky kids…they will have so much of their lives documented and isn’t that a special gift!!!! I want to thank May for giving me the chance to tell you how special you all are to me and how proud I am to call myself Fiskateer #1943!
Now, ALSO being from the northeast, like Kelly Jo, I’m sure May would ROCK this place like a California earthquake…but us New Yorkers, like to ROCK BACK so here’s your chance to see how we do things in Upstate New York !
When doing a crop for beginners, I don’t like to overwhelm them..so this is the perfect project! They make one exactly like mine, then they get pretty creative! It’s a sense of accomplishment for them…and keeps things easy and simple for everyone!
Project: Post-It Note Covers
Fiskars 12 inch Portable Trimmer
Fiskars XL Block Party
Fiskars Tape Runner and Foam Dots

Product lines used on the 3 samples shown- Heidi Grace Garden Asst. Papers, Cloud 9 Sparkle Blueberry Sorbet, and Kimberly Poloson Flourish Rub-Ons
Misc. cardstock and 1/4 inch ribbon
Standard size post-it note pad, any color
1. Cut the cardstock 9 1/4″ x 3 1/8″ (give or take a smidge!)
2. Score the cardstock at 3″, 3 1/2″ and 6″.
3. Fold the cardstock in at each score. You will have the front cover “double” thick, then the side of your post-it note pad fits inbetween the other two score marks.
4. Cut the patterned paper 2 3/4 x 2 3/4. If you want to chalk, ink or paint the edges, do it now before attaching it to the front of your cover.
5. Cut the ribbon at about 6 1/4 inches long and attach on the INSIDE to the outside. The embellishment you choose will cover where the ribbon ends meet on the front.
6. You can now decorate your cover any way you choose!
7. Take your post-it note pad, peel off the back cover, run your tape runner across the back sticky note for added security and attach to the back inside cover, sticky part at the top.
These can be used as place setting cards, hostess gifts, teacher thank-you’s, party favors, whatever ! The possibilities are endless!

Thank You for a wonderful project. I do a very similar variation of this for post-it notes too. It makes a really, really nice litte gift. I make some really girly for teenagers, or others more conservative.
I LOVE your project and will follow these instructions to do your version. I can’t wait. Yours looks easier than mine.
Thanks for sharing - I love your work!
