I wanted to share something that Abigail and her dad created. How many of you remember building with ‘popsicle sticks’? Well, Abigail and daddy purchased some popsicle sticks, made some plans (drawn up by Abigail) and went to work.
It was fun to see my husband use his creativity and he wanted it to be an experience that Abigail will remember. Their mission: a Pink Pickup Truck for Polly Pocket. Well, Abigail was not feeling really well a couple of weekends agao and in fact for most of the weekend was running about 102 degree fever. Her main mission was to eat the pushups so they could have wheels. But when she felt up to it she would help daddy. Otherwise my husband was diligent at work using his Fiskars utility cutters. Here’s a few photos.
What fun it is to craft with your kids, with a friend or as a family. It’s memories made! So consider spending time as a family or with a friend crafting.
I’m looking forward to telling this story in the pages of Abigail’s scrapbook. I know this will be something she will remember for years to come.
Enjoy your day, the Fiskateer way!

January 31st, 2008 at 1:20 pmOh my gosh! Fantastic ! Love the plans! Using push ups for wheels..how genius is that!! What a good Daddy to help make the plans a reality. I love seeing my hubby and kids working together, especially if it’s something kind of “girly” !
Hugs to Abby and Dad!

February 1st, 2008 at 7:47 amHow precious is that pink popsicle stick truck & the story that goes along with it. This is definately a story that needs to be scrapped. I am sure that Abigail will treasure this memory in the years to come.
I remember the hours I spent ‘building’ and crafting with my son when he was little. Unfortunately I didn’t take pictures of those memories as I wasn’t scrapping in those days. Someday I’ll journal the memories and make him a page for his album too. Thanks for the inspiration.
