Unforgettable

This past weekend was unforgettable. It began with being a part of a wonderful event held in Redlands. Karen Wilson organized a very special event with the help of Elena and Melanie from Scrapbook Royalty to benefit the Unforgettable organization. The Unforgettables Foundation is a non-profit charity that raises money to help grieving families with expenses after their child has died. I had the blessing of meeting Glenn who is chairman of the organization and a very nice gentleman.
Collective Journey in Redlands also played a big role in the event. They had shuttles to and from the event and gave a discount to those participating. I love the ladies at Collective Journey. A wonderful store filled with some wonderful people. I have taught there in the past and they are very special. It was wonderful to see them again.
I had a wonderful helper . . . Fiskateer Mitzi and we had a fun table to demonstrate tools as well as do make and take cards with one of my favorite lines . . . Heidi Grace’s Urban Acres and Cloud 9 product as well as Fiskars products of course.
Here is a winner . . . a basket of Fiskars goodies went to Colleen and she was so excited. And here’s Susan showing her Fiskars pride with her 10 year old pair of scissors.
It was so much fun. Mitzi was awesome and it was wonderful spending some fun creative time with her. I was one of several ladies offering make and takes. Stephanie Tafoya my neighboring Fiskateer did a fun make and take, Candice Carpenter, Elena (on behalf of Michelle Hill), Donna Salazar and Leah Fung ~ most of which are Fiskateers! It was wonderful to be with these fun gals and to see some wonderful familiar faces (Laura, Susan and Debbie from Freckle Friends) and meet some wonderful new Fiskateer friends. It was such a wonderful day and we had a lot of fun.
What a special day. $16,195 was raised and they’re still counting.
On Sunday we had a family day and headed to Sea World. We had sunshine for most of the day and got to see a lot . . . then came the rain and wind. Abby enjoyed her hot cocoa though while viewing one of the shows. Even had the opportunity to meet one of the Clydesdales!
So I hope your weekend was one filled with some fun and creativity. I hope your weekend whether it was filled with ‘every day moments’ or big events will be one that is unforgettable.

January 30th, 2008 at 3:32 pmWhat a wonderful event and seemed very successful. This is indeed a worth cause. A friend recently lost her teenage son on a mission trip while he was swimming in the ocean and he was hit by a massive wave and swept out to sea. Without the support of organizations like this one, their church family … there family would not have come as far as they have. Thanks Cheryl for giving so much of you.

January 30th, 2008 at 4:36 pmWow - what an amazing event and amount raised for charity! You have all done yourselves proud and a great service! I will have to look more into that organization for a friend.
I dream of taking the kids to Sea World, but I would expect an Orca whale, not a horse. (LOL) My unforgetable weekend reached a pinnacle on Saturday afternoon, when I won a game of monopoly after a 5 day long game, and at which one point I had $17 left in my bank. The memorable part, however, is how our son handled the loss - SO WELL! A few years ago he would have cried and stormed out of the room We praised him right and left!

February 1st, 2008 at 2:44 amAs I read your comments, I had tears in my eyes, thinking of those who lost their loved one an thinking of the wonderful organization and the ladies that made the event such a success. Some times we think we don’t have much to give, but when we get together and several people contribute, it helps so many. Not only did you bring the receivers joy, it looked like you brought so much joy to all of you as you gave your time and effort. I commend all of you!
