Hey all- as promised here’s the details for my “hybrid scrapbooking” challenge!
Challenge: use a computer generated element on a NEW scrapbook page created for this challenge. It could be journaling, a title, a fancy edited photo, paper printed out, a scanned item printed out… anything! Utilizing computer elements into your traditional scrapbook layouts IS hybrid scrapbooking- you are probably already doing it somewhat!
Deadline: February 20
Prize: A copy of my book (that’s all about hybrid scrapbooking) that just came out + a truly fabulous pair of Fiskars scissors.
To enter: Post your entry on-line (in the fiskateer or another gallery) and then post a comment on this blog post with a link to your project. I’ll draw a winner randomly on the 21st.
Happy scrapping!

January 30th, 2008 at 5:57 pmI am definately up for this challenge. I often use my computer for layouts anyway. I may come up with something a bit different than the usual for this one, just to make it a bit more interesting.
You have given us plenty of time for this one.

January 31st, 2008 at 3:03 amI am redoing photos from the 80’s so I have had to do a lot of repair work on them. Everything on this page was scanned and then printed out.

January 31st, 2008 at 5:12 pmYEAH!! I knew from your hint earlier this was coming so I created an easy one last night that I just finished scanning. Can we do more than one? I thought this might be a week challenge thing…so I hustled to get done. I could spend more time on a 2nd now that I see we have until Feb. 20th.

January 31st, 2008 at 7:20 pmhere is my LO May. I wanted to include detailed instructions for what I did, but had to keep erasing characters to get the 255 maximum. Oh well - you can see the traditional supplies!

January 31st, 2008 at 9:24 pmok May here is my challenge LO’s for you. I made a 2 page LO but it is the second page that I used the computer (photoshop) to remove most of the color from the photo of my grandkids. I love the way this comes out.

February 1st, 2008 at 10:28 amHere is a hyrbid project I worked on this week. The letters are created by tracing BG chipboard letters on digital PP that I printed on matte photo paper. I matted them on a Hambly transparency and added HS photo corners. Easy as pie.

February 5th, 2008 at 12:04 amI posted mine in my Fiskateer gallery. I used Illustrator to make my daughter’s announcement and Photoshop to edit and place text on her announcement picture. Also, on the facing page, I complied all the emails I received in response to my “we are home” email. I used Illustrator to lay them all out and pick fonts and sizes. I printed it on vellum and printed my orig email on purple CS.

February 6th, 2008 at 2:15 pmHere is my first hybrid layout - I have to say that I am completely inspired by May’s book! I did 2 layouts like this one, and am working on 2 more. I’m still learning (and going through lots of ink!), but I LOVE it!

February 8th, 2008 at 10:12 pmJust posted mine. I had a lot of fun doing this. Creating Keepsakes has a tutorial that helped me walk through how to journal in a circle or in the case half circle. It also showed me layers, and putting pictures together. There is something addictive to this computer scrapping.
