2008 in a word

I have been struggling with a word for 2008.  A word to capture what I want in the upcoming year.  A word to symbolize what is important, where I want to go, and what I need in 2008.  Several words made the shortlist…

Gratefulness
Thankfulness
Spontaneity
Creativity
Expansion
Possibilities

None of these words, however, single-handedly encompassed what I want, need, and crave […]

Looking towards 2008…

I am not one of those crazy resolution people.  I have tried.  By February I am so burnt out on the high-pressure resolutions that I just chuck them out the window.  So, recently I went to a few goals - more attainable, less stressful goals.
This year, I have one so far…
To try two new recipes […]

Christmas Wrap Up

I hope you all had a blessed Christmas.  I have been a little ‘under the weather’ but I thought I’d share a little about mine.  I enjoyed family time.  My husband’s parents were visiting from Minnesota so we had lots of family around.  That’s always a blessing.  Abby enjoyed having both sets of her grandparents […]

December 26th…

is a great day.  I love the day after Christmas.  Before the kids were born, I would join the hordes of people at the stores for early deals and cheap Christmas decorations, wrapping, etc… for next year.  Having kids, however, has changed my day-after tradition, and to be honest, I love the new one!

My Most Precious Christmas Gift

Next to the Christmas gift of baby Jesus, I received my most precious gift nine years ago and I wanted to share it with you.  We were back in the states (from Africa where we had been living as Christian missionaries) and staying in Florida.  I received this priceless gift on December 21st, 1998 and brought […]
