Mid-Week Ramble

Things are coming along nicely for the Christmas party this weekend. I just finished all of the gift bags last night…
I’ll pick the winners of the HG holiday scissors at the end of the week so there’s still time to get in the running.
Many of you may know that my brother has been deployed and for the past three years he missed Christmas with our family. It was hard on us- but not nearly as hard as it was for him. I came across this at Heidi Grace’s blog, please go over and check it out. Happily my brother will probably be home with us this Christmas, but there are plenty of service men and women that will miss their families for the holidays. Please show your support any way you can.

November 28th, 2007 at 8:19 pmI can soooo totally relate. I was prior service in the ARMY, but was fortunate enough to not deploy. However my husband who is still active… did a tour to Korea. It was hard esp with a baby… while he was away for Christmas. We check out the letsaythanks page out every few weeks and send out a card. Its a good pick me up for soldiers who are deployed and we have quite a few friends overseas right now… So being a supportive friend to the wives who are left behind and supporting my hub everyday. Its just a good thing to make someones day feel better and it only takes a few seconds to do… God Bless the Troops and the Families and Spouses who are left behind but not forgotten for their strength and support.

November 28th, 2007 at 10:28 pmHolly,
Thank you for providing the link so that we can send a Christmas card to our Service men/women. They need to know that we care about them and all that they are sacraficing for our freedom. For all that is giving up by them (not being with family on special events or even small special moments that they aren’t able to be part of) You have such a big heart Holly thank you!!!!

2. Following is my webpage about some of the work I do with seniors in the community. This lady is absolutely incredible. Please try and remember a senior in one of your local nursing homes for Christmas.

November 30th, 2007 at 11:01 amWe have this happening at home too. My youngest niece is almost 21 and recently starting dating a guy stationed an hour+ away from her home. He has been driving here every weekend to see her since they met about 6 months ago. They have fallen in love and he is due to deploy on Dec 14 for a fifteen month tour. Their first and second Christmas and they cannot even spend it together. Sad for them, and all our service men and women not home, as well as their families back home missing them.

November 30th, 2007 at 9:08 pmI thought I had left a reply last night but don’t see it posted. I really do love the look of the HG scissors. I remember when my brothers were deployed to Viet Nam and were not home for Christmas. It was a blessing when they returned in one piece. I you and your family a pleasent Christmas and a joyous reunion.
