There are 50 fiskateers about to head to San Antonio, and this weekend the rest of us will be ’rounding-up’ right here! So- to help inspire us scrap vacations I’ve got 3 fiskateer projects to share. All of these projects are made with the sweet new travel line from Cloud 9.
Kelly #936: Three things helped make this Fun.
1. I decided to use a 12×6 format so that I could focus on just a few photos instead of 676.
2. My DH and I kept a honeymoon journal and we took turns writing in it. (This was before I was a scrapbooker, How Smart was I?) The journaling on these pages is from the journal either as a direct quote or with minor editing.
3. The colors of the Cloud 9 Travel line complimented my photos so well! Most of the patterned papers and embellishments are travel specific, but there are some that would work on non-travel pages.
In my 1st LO “I Climbed a Volcano” I used Sparkle Mini ABC Rub-ons and Chipboard Quote Stickers. On the back of the rub-ons it says, “There is no need to cut apart these rub-ons before use. Simply choose a design and rub it on without worrying about the one next to it.” I was doubtful, but the directions are True! What a huge time saver! And it gets better…the sparkle/glitter is IN the rub-on, it doesn’t come off. I was amazed. And the adhesive on the chipboard actually works; you don’t need to add your own.
For “Mr & Mrs” I used Cardstock Stickers. They come as a square block of words, I cut them apart to use as strips. These are very versatile and I might cut apart some of the words that I am not likely to use and create a ‘Ransom Note’ look on a future LO.
This waterfall LO was so much Fun! I use the 3D Gel Word Stickers. They come on a clear backing which is now I got the idea for this LO. I tossed the sticker package aside and it landed on a piece of Cardstock and I liked how it looked! The stickers feel like vinyl and are so easy to work with. I stuck, un-stuck and re-stuck several times to get the layered look I was going for on this LO.
My final LO, NaPali Coast, uses the blue Travel Map PP as a background for this beautiful photo. And more cardstock stickers cut into strips. Nate’s journaling summed up the experience of seeing the NaPali Coast.
Jill Shumway- When I received Cloud 9 travel line to create this project it made me want to take a vacation. It was love at first sight. This line could be used for many different vacations but it coordinated so well. It made me want to take a vacation. Deciding what pictures to use was the hardest part of this project.
I absolutely love the 3D Gel stitches. They are a great and self-adhesive. They have the look of the rub-on without all the work and no chance of making a mistake. The cardstock Alphabet stickers made easy work of my title I was able to mount them on cardstock then outline them with a pen and use the 3D gel stitches to accentuate. There were so many different Rub-ons to choose from there was a perfect picture or word for most of the empty spots on the page that needed that little extra something. The sparkle rub-ons have just the right about of sparkle to brighten up any page.
I can’t wait to go buy the rest of the Line. I have a perfect Vacation all picked out to scrap the rest of the line with.
Aren’t these great pages? I love them! Hmm… so where’s the 3rd project? Well I did a layout for the Round-up, and I’m going to share it along with complete how-to instructions on Thursday! I hope you enjoy, and I hope all those headed to San Antonio have as much fun as we are all going to have around here. Who’s ready for some FUN???
