step-by-step: friendship card

DSC09841.JPG I get requests for virtual make ‘n takes all the time… so I thought I’d share a card I just made. :) It features a cool set of stamps from Inque boutique that I’m totally in LOOOOOOVE with, and of course scraps of paper. So, I bought the Creative Escape book and in it is a project featuring images stamped (and cut out) on patterned paper. Sounded cool and I wanted to try it (and these stamps) so I decided to experiment with a card!

to make this you’ll need:
8.5×5.5 piece of white cardstock             stamp & stamp press
4.25×5.5 piece of patterned paper          black ink
black glaze pen by Sakura                      sand paper
2×4.25 strip of paper                            various stickers and rub-ons
flower and brad

DSC09837.JPG DSC09832.JPGDSC09835.JPGDSC09836.JPGDSC09840.JPG

1. adhere patterned papers to folded piece of cardstock and then sand edges.
2. Stamp image onto patterned paper then cut out and go over image with black glaze pen
note: glaze pen adds a raised shiny finish- they are very cool pens!
3. once dry adhere image and embellishments to card to finish.

(supplies: papers- 7gypsies, daisy d; stamp- Inque boutique; tag, rub-ons, flower, brad- Heidi Grace paradise point collection; pen- sakura glaze pen)

DSC09863.JPG Note: feel free to use the basic sketch of this card to make your own version! I love simple cards the best- they’re fun, quick, and a great way to try new ideas and techniques.

Nice idea. I like it when sketches have measurements to them. It is so much easier to follow them then. I think I might use this sketch for a christmas card.

I LOVE inque boutique too!! And they are so reasonably priced! I’ve never seen a line of stamps that I loved almost EVERY set by. I’m trying to “prioritize” my wishlist for when I walk into the LSS that sells them.

Awesome quick card and I love the idea of using the glaze pen over a stamped image - it sounds so cool! I’ll have to get me one of those glaze pens. And of course, I’m spoiled enough to have all the Inque Boutique stamps I could ever want so I can totally scraplift this. Love it!
