3 fiskateers: season of change

OK, so it doesn’t feel like fall is anywhere near (it is 102 today!!!)… but I know it is. So to jump start some creativity for my favorite season I asked 3 fiskateers to share projects with us. Hot soup, falling leaves, Halloween, back to school… it’s all a part of fall. Enjoy!
amyre # 343 I grabbed a previously used boring old cream candle that I had laying around and got it looking festive with the great products from Heidi Grace Maple Crest Collection. First I took my heat gun and heated up a camel colored piece foam and then quickly stamped it with my “fall” stamp (I think I found it in the $1 bin at Michaels). I ripped some colored cardstock and inked the edge. Because the candle was more that 12″ around I had to put two pieces together. I used some cool old metal tacks that I had found at a garage sale to get the cardstock to stay on the candle. I then went ahead and used some of the Heidi Grace satin stickers that just worked like a dream… better than ribbon! I added other embelishments and a photo of Wiggles. Since the candle was so fat I went ahead and decorated both sides.
Linda #179 - Autumn has always been my favorite time of year, and as I see it, there is no better place on earth to experience all that the season has to offer than here in New Hampshire! The evenings become crisp, there is a definite “autumn scent” to the air, and our fall foliage is so incredible that we have visitors from all over the world who come to NH just to photograph it and enjoy. I like to take photos too, and my girls are willing subjects - especially when the “photo shoot” revolves around playing in the crunchy leaves and hamming for Mama’s camera! These photos were taken a couple years ago, and are some of my very favorites, and when I was looking for photos to scrap for this Fiskateers mission, I couldn’t resist pairing them up with the new Autumn collection from Daisy D’s.
I like to decorate my home for the seasons, and love the country look of barn stars. I found a metal one in a local craft store months ago, just waiting for the perfect papers to alter it with. I like the “patchwork” effect I got with the Daisy D’s Autumn papers, and I dug deep into my Grandmother’s button box to come up with the buttons I used to embellish the “seams”. It adds a little country charm to my front door, and even though the thermometer is telling me it is not quite fall yet, it is a cozy reminder that my favorite season is just around the corner!
Melissa #1464 - I originally had planned on doing a page on our apple picking trip from last fall, but then my husband took the picture of the large yellow flower from our pumpkin plant and I just knew I had to use it. I will admit, that these Heidi Grace products are not my usual style or color scheme, but they really worked great with these photos. And all the products blended together with ease. I chose to use rub-ons for the title. I will admit that I had never used them before, but I thought “How hard can it be?”. Ha!! Well after ruining one of the “p”s and scratching it off, I had to turn an R into a P, and it worked out better than I had planned. You can only really tell when you look close up and know that it’s there. I also used my brown, stamping ink and a sponge to distress the title some, because it really stuck out before. I hope you enjoy and it can help inspire you for this upcoming fall.
One lucky person will get a product pack from Heidi Grace’s new Harvest Row collection… just leave a comment here and the winner will be announced tomorrow on the message board. happy crafting!

Linda: I love the colors, they just scream out Autumn to me. And the photos are just so cute. It looks like they were having a ball. Absolutly perfect. I’m loving he star too, great PP!
Meilssa: What great combo of PP you have going on in your LO. Love the compostion of the three photos and that mustard yellow outline. The photos are super sweet, do you have any pumkins yet? If you plant again, I’ve heard that if you carve a word into the pumpkin when it is small it looks super cool when it has finished growing.
Super Job to all!
