Ok, I was going to wait and post this when I return next week, but I just can’t wait. It’s too exciting. First of all, I can not believe that it’s already been a year. (well, almost!) Just about a year ago I found out that Fiskars and Brains on Fire had selected me to be one of their brand ambassadors. I’ll admit I was scared! Who were these people I’d be working with? Would I like them? Would they like me? Can this be successful and work? What all do I have to do? These were just a few of the questions racing through my mind.
This year has gone by way too fast. I have been looking at my mini-book from my Fiskars trip, and I’ve been thinking about how to celebrate the one year anniversary of our trip to Madison, WI where the 4 lead fiskateers first met, and this whole wonderful thing we call the fiskateers was born. I also want to do something I don’t normally do- celebrate my birthday. Now before you ask- I was named after my great grandmother, and so my month of birth has NOTHING TO DO WITH MY NAME!!! Yeah, I’ve been asked “if you were born in April would your name have been April?” and other such questions my whole life by people… and no it’s not original, and yes it does annoy me. But this year I’m determined to celebrate, and not focus on the one month that I get more annoying comments about my name than any other. Yes, we’re going to make the month of MAY fabulous.
There will be a fun filled crop on-line (full of prizes you requested!), random blog give-aways, and the biggest contest I’ve ever put together!!! Of course this is in addition to all the usual fun we have here with the fiskateers. The challenges are ready, the prizes all ordered… so who’s ready to get crafting?
Here is how the big challenge is going to work:
Over the next 6 weeks or so challenges are going to be issued. Each one will have it’s own separate guidelines, deadline, and prizes. AND if that wasn’t enough… every time you enter one of these challenges in addition to being entered to win the prizes for that challenge you will also be entered to with the grand prize that I will give away at the end of all this fun. An ultimate rolling organizer from Fiskars that I just couldn’t leave empty. Yes, it has some very special prizes inside of it.
I hope you are as excited as I am- this is going to be a wild, fun, prize filled month! Keep watching the blog- Challenge #1 goes up on May 1st. Of course I have to give a huge thank you to Fiskars- without them we wouldn’t be here, and without their generosity I wouldn’t have prizes to share with you all!!!

Is it possible that one of the original may’s in your family was named because of the month of her birth. I have heard family stories to that effect in the past. I think it is really cool to have a family name no matter how it originated. My middle name is a family name there are at least 5 generations in our family that have the name usually as a middle name including my daughter and I.
