After-Christmas Shopping

One thing my mother always does after Christmas is buy new Christmas decorations for the next year. When we put an offer on our house just a couple of weeks ago the first thing I thought was “Now I have a reason to buy Christmas decorations after Christmas!’
I thought and thought of what colors I’d want on my own tree in my own house and today I went to Target to get all of my goodies. I didn’t go crazy, though; Adam said I could fill a big Rubbermaid container, so that’s exactly what I did- all the way to the top. It was so much fun!
Have any of y’all done anything fun after Christmas this year?

December 27th, 2006 at 9:36 pmI got an AC Moore gift card for Christmas, and they had a 50% off coupon for Tues. only, so I went last night and bought a Fiskars paper trimmer and a Fiskars Click Knife. I haven’t had any time to try them out, but I’m excited to have them!

December 27th, 2006 at 10:26 pmI hit Target, too, Holly. I got lots of cute gift bags, tags, and wrap for next year. Then I hit Micheals and World Market for more! I have a lot of gift cards, however, and need to think about those and what I want to get. I have stayed away from the mall, knowing it will be crazy, but may venture there tomorrow!

December 27th, 2006 at 10:34 pmNot yet. But yours sounds like a blast. I’ll be heading over the hill (Placerville, California) to Grandma’s house on the 29th to spend a day. My aunt and I always head down to historic downtown Placerville, to find each other something for our collections. Hers - Santa; Mine - Snowmen/people. The older or obscure the better. Can’t wait!

December 29th, 2006 at 2:55 amMy hubby took the kids to ToysRUs to get a toy that wasn’t available before Christmas. Grandparents had given them some money to spend so they had fun.
I hit the scrapbook store to get some new paper to make some cards.

December 29th, 2006 at 9:37 amHolly, I always get the best buys after Christmas. I love Target - a few years ago I got Christmas wrapping paper for 19 cents a roll! I bought so much - we are still wrapping with that paper!

December 29th, 2006 at 9:39 amI like getting new Christmas items after Christmas and packing them away. that way when I open them up the next year it is like getting a present! I usually forget whatever I bought the year before so, it is always a surprize!
