(almost) party time!

table.jpg  Prep is the word that best describes my current state. I am preparing for our annual (well, except last year which we skipped) holiday party! We have so much fun cooking and spending time with friends and family. It’s definitely one of my favorite days of the year!

In years past I baked everything from near scratch. I mean it. I made the french bread, the dips, desserts… everything! This year I am experiencing a change. While I WANT, I mean really want to do everything myself from scratch… I know with a toddler running around I just can’t do it. So I’m cooking up a few favorites, and Jason is cooking his famous ribs, and the rest is le frozen appetizers or other ready made goodies. Gotta love the awesome things at Costco and Trader Joe’s!

The upside to my frozen helpers is that I will have more time to enjoy, and more time for photos. In years past I have gotten ZERO to 5 photos max at these parties. Sad, isn’t it? Not this year! This year there will be more ready-made food and time for pictures. But before we get to all that I need to get back to cleaning! I’ve got floors to scrub and things to dust.

tree1.jpg santa.jpg I’ll check back in after the dust settles (after party). The photos here are ones I just snapped around the house. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend Fiskateers!

I love how you made your three tier stand, how creative is that! Not to mention so much more personal and decorative.

Have fun! Costco appetizers are yummy–there are a few I always get excited about when I see them at parties! :)

Your paper-covered tree looks terrific as a centerpiece!
