Christmas carols playing, decorations sparkling and people bustling about. The day after Thanksgiving we headed to Knott’s Berry Farm as we do each December. It’s become a tradition. I enjo their “Calico Christmas” with all the craft vendors, great gift ideas and the beautiful lights.
We had a blast. One of my favorite photos from the trip was that of my husband and daughter on the ’swings’. I love their expressions.
And worth the whole trip was ‘Snoopy on Ice’. The performers and the show was fantastic. In a nutshell . . . while the decorations and shopping are fun, we can miss the warmth of Christmas if we get too busy. Charlie Brown was searching for the true meaning in Christmas . . . He found it in Bethlehem. It was so much fun watching all the children and the ‘tiny tots with their eyes all a glow’.
There was also a fun ‘all girl’ store that Abby just loved. We spent a lot of time in there while Daddy took a breather outside. She was so into it. Pinks, foo foo, cutesy things . . . all for girls. When she was ready to go, I still wasn’t. She says, “Come on mom. You keep gasping at things.” Funny girl! Here she is next to a ‘pink’ Christmas tree.
Whatever your December tradition . . . Enjoy! I’d love to hear what you’re up to this December!

November 29th, 2006 at 1:50 amLove the pictures - your daughter is truly adorable and she looks EXACTLY LIKE YOU
We go to Knott’s in December. We went last year and will go again this year. It’s fun and YES I love that store you are talking about!!! Like any scrapbook store, I can be in there for hours and never get tired of it. December is busy for us. We are not done decorating around the house, but will finish this weekend. I need to finish my Christmas shopping (I’m over half way done). We are celebrating Christmas early with my sister and her family since they will be in Florida to visit her husband’s side of the family. We have been invited to a couple parties, but other than that just enjoying our son. OH, I want to also try to go to Timeless Treasure on the 9th

December 1st, 2006 at 8:31 pmI haven’t been to Knotts either, but looks lovely. Your daughter is so cute, she’s going to be a heart breaker!
Well, it’s not a tradition, but after reading some earlier blogs you wrote Cheryl, the one about organization, you inspired me to do some of that this weekend. I know doesn’t sound like much fun, but, it’s more like satisfaction.

December 2nd, 2006 at 10:57 amWhat a great tradition!!! Don’t know if I could get into Christmas with the warmer CA temps - was just in Ely, MN, where the night time temps were 10-15 below 0 & day time temps were about 0-10! Now that makes me think of Christmas!!! LOL!!! Gotta admit, that in my older age, warmer does sound so much better!!!
