First of all, let’s announce a new winner! *** Vidya G *** congratulations! You are the winner of the Cloud 9 goodies from yesterday’s post. E-mail me your info may@fiskateers.com
Ok, so now onto a craft project that is working most splendidly! My paper covered styrofoam trees! I posted the full how-to’s on a previous blog post (Project: Christmas trees) and it really is great for using up scraps. This one is now finished, and is about 16″ high, and covered in Heidi Grace Snowflake park goodies! Of course now I’m finding that I want to add fun to them! This one got the treatment with white paint, lace, and Heidi Grace blue and white flowers. LOVE THOSE! I think I’ll add some ‘ice’ sparkles (aka flaky glitter) in a bit too.
I need at least 2 more for my table… so I’d better get back to the glue! Until then enjoy your afternoon. I’ll be listening to ____________ Christmas CD. Especially _________ song. First person to guess my FAVORITE Christmas-time CD (artist) and the first person to guess my favorite holiday song will win a package of Heidi Grace flowers as seen above, and some other goodies too…
ETA: You all know me too well! Harry Connick Jr. (when my heart finds Christmas) is indeed my favorite album. and Sleigh Ride is so my favorite song. LOVE IT! Congrats Debbie and Rebecca, you win! For those who didn’t win… remember that a new prize is a few days away. =)

Wendy Jo says:
November 28th, 2006 at 10:16 pmhum…”(There’s No Place Like)Home for the Holidays”
…or perhaps you’re in goofy mood and prefer Connick’s “The Happy Elf”…or Madonna’s “Santa Baby”
Wendy Jo says:
November 28th, 2006 at 10:26 pm…but if you’re really nuts “The Christmas Song” by the Chipmunks (get it really nuts…)
OH, I’VE GOT A MILLION GUESSES…
But I’ll have to rule out one song…”Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer”…no that can’t be it becauss you don’t seem like the kind of person that leaves your christmas lights up on your house all year long!

November 29th, 2006 at 2:51 pmAlvin and the Chipmunks singing “Santa Don’t Be Late”
Yeah, you PRETEND to love Harry Connick - I know Alvin is your Secret Love…
Second Choice: the Dogs Christmas album, where all the dogs bark to the tune of “Jingle Bells”
arf arf arf
arf arf arf
arf ARF arf arf arf
etc
it’s good to cry a little at this time of year..
You know why I especially love the styrofoam tree project? Because it is a very simple design that lends itself to infinite variation. I think it would be a very fun class, or a holiday party activity - everyone bring their scraps and ephemera and play together while eating holiday treats and drinking peppermint cocoa and hot cider. No two would turn out the same I am sure.
happy day
