The “Zone”

Do you ever get into the “zone”? You start working and lose all track of time and space… years could pass and you will have not eaten, gone to the bathroom, smelled the fire in the kitchen, seen your family, or spoken one word aloud? I did that tonight. I started working on another mini-book for a project I am doing and before I knew it, Matt was going to bed and the news was on… I just lost about 2 1/2 hours of my life.
It is scary and yet so nice to actually be focused and working and in that creative mindset. The ability to work and to not be interrupted with screaming kids, cooking dinner, the phone ringing, or the need to change yet another diaper is strangely satisfying.
Thank you, honey, for just letting me work tonight… you’re the best! (Yes, I know, gushing just occurred, but sometimes that is okay and it is good that they hear it when we appreciate them letting us take time to create… okay, the moment has passed… are the dirty dishes still in the kitchen?!?!?!)
Scrap Happy!

October 31st, 2006 at 2:14 amROFL. I was in ‘the zone’ tonight too. However it was pumpkin carving and I now have a claw for a right hand. SORE!!!! Anyhow, I LOVE when that happens and 2-3 hours just disappear. Glad you got to have some zone time!
