A Beautiful Day…

Do you ever have those days that you wish you could hang onto forever?  They are nothing special - not major events or anything, but they are perfect in every way…

We had one of those today.  The boys stayed in bed longer than expected with the roll back for daylight savings time.  We had pancakes for breakfast.  I got the house picked up and cleaned in record time.  Jacob took a 2 1/2 hour morning nap, giving me time to get outside with Owen, clean out the flower beds to get them prepped for winter, do sidewalk chalk (or a.k.a.  “chidewalk salk”at our house), and play some basketball, too!  We came back in, had hot chocolate and apple slices.  he played with Thomas the Train and waited for Nana and Grandpa Steve to come visit.  I even had time in the kitchen to make a huge pot of chili, cornbread, and apple cake.  My mom and dad got there in time for lunch, and the Bears game…  sorry May, but your SF 49ers went down in flames today…  Bears 41-49ers 10.  Bears 7-0 on the season…  Yeah!!!!!!

I had time to hang out with my parents, watch the kids have a blast, read the Sunday paper (something that NEVER happens!), and just enjoy my family.  We even carved Owen’s pumpkin tonight before he went to bed.  It was just one of those non-descript days that stay in your heart forever.

I hope you had a great weekend and that you have a great week, too!

Live life. Love life. Scrap life.

dude- I HATE the 49ers. They are Jason’s team. ;-) So it’s cool.

But that sounds like a WONDERFUL day and I’m so glad you got some extra zzzz’s. I’m looking forward to E heading to bed an hour early! WHEE!!!!!!!!!

But I don’t wanna go to bed yet, May!! :)
And I love those kinds of days, Stephenie! Ordinary days seem to be the ones that we remember more than the big fancy-schmancy days. And the Bears winning (even if I had to tolerate the Packers game due to living in WI) makes the day even more sweet!

Go BEARS!!! What a blowout!!! Anyway, glad you had an awesome day, Steph!!! My Sunday was pretty good, too - nothing special, though. Had bacon & eggs, biscuits & gravy for breakfast, a rarity around here ’cause my kids are older ( 15-24), DH got the grass cut nice & short for the winter (UUUHHHHH!), I finished DD & BF’s Halloween costumes, made rollout cookie dough, watched some of the BEARS game, did a few errands, & had a wonderful pork roast dinner that DH got together( that’s why I left to do errands, forced him to get dinner ready! LOL!!!)After dinner, watched Extreme Makeover - Home Edition & Desperate Housewives, then worked on altered Halloween crystal light containers!!! (Will post when finished.) What a day!!!
