~ I Feel the Love ~

As some of you know, I work in law enforcement. Today was my last day working at the substation and tomorrow I will be taking on a new assignment at a different location. I had a busy and difficult day . . . difficult because it was hard saying ’so long’ to so many wonderful folks that I see on a daily basis . . . the deputies, Community Service Officers, professional staff. When you work full-time you spend almost as much time with people at work as you do with family.
Some of you know me and know that tears flow fairly easy. My day was a little on the hectic side when one of the gals asked me to come up to the front counter for a co-workers birthday. I was excited about giving my friend Linnie warm birthday wishes and headed up to the front for a little cake. Well, low and behold . . . Surprise! My co-workers blessed me with a luncheon, cake, card, gifts. The only thing they forgot was the Kleenex but I felt the love!!!
Of course the tears began to flow and for good reason. I love these people! Let me say it again . . . I love these people! They are a wonderful group of folks and I felt so blessed. I’m excited about my new assignment but I’m also sad to leave behind some true friends. I won’t see them as often as I did and that hurts my heart. I felt the love today . . . thank you . . . a special thanks to Aubrey (my sole mate . . . yes, sole), Dennis, Linnie, Claudia, Kyleen, Karen, Patti, Chelsea, Sandy, Danielle, Ryan, Cassie, Sgts, Lindsey, Ashley, Dustin, Peter, and others. I love you guys! And Happy Birthday Linnie!
Sniff, sniff. I think you can try and scrap this love but it’s uncontainable. I’ll cherish the memories! Thank you!
Like the golden sun that
warms everything in its path,
kindred souls warm our hearts and help us
to remember what is truly important.

September 29th, 2006 at 8:54 pmThat was such a sweet entry. I know how attached you can become to the people that you work with and see every day. Holly & I felt so attached to “our customers” from having the store for so long. When you see people and share in their lives day after day - they become family. I know that you will love all the new people that you will meet at your new place and that they will love you. You are such a sweet girl - Good luck in your new position!

October 3rd, 2006 at 1:29 amCheryl you had me crying too, as I could almost feel your joy and pain. You made some wonderful friends at that station over these past few years, and I’m sure you will do the same where you are going… Of course, I may a little prejudice, but to me, it is so easy to be a friend to you, because you are such a wonderful, encouraging friend yourself.
