My Very Merry UNbirthday Celebration!

Do you ever just feel like a party?

Well, that’s the feeling that I got last week.  I just needed a party.  And we all know the best parties are for kids, so that’s exactly what I cooked up.

It all started in the toy isle at Target.  There was a huge sale, and I have such a hard time passing up a good sale, so I had to scan my brain for kids to buy toys for, and once I did that I had to come up with a reason for the gift.  I quickly remembered the “Very merry un-birthday” song from Alice in Wonderland and had a theme for my party.  Perfect!  A reason for toys and a theme for my party.

Not only did we have a very merry un-birthday party complete with cake, balloons, and party favors, but it was a suprise.  The kids loved it! We had the best time eating all kinds of sugar, playing party games and opening presents.  It was as fun as any regular birthday party and it was great to be a kid again for a couple of hours.

Sometimes you just need a party…

Excuse the glare, I would love a 12X12 scanner but I don’t have one, so my camera will have to do.  The space at the top is for my journaling, I always put off finishing my journaling until the end.  I want to use transparency and I’m out so it will have to get posted without it for now.

Actually I’m planning on Mondays game at cellular field for my kids to get them up on the board i’m going to do a happy 11 1/2 and 17 1/2 birthday. The reaction should be good from people watching it… I will get a photo of it they take after the game then mail it to you. And it all goes to charity!

Hey Holly! Thought I’d stop in and say “hello”. I love reading your thoughts and seeing any great new layouts you have. You know you’re an inspiration to my growing creativity!

By the way, if anyone can think of a reason to have a party and act like a kid (even if just for a while) it’s going to be you. Hope to see you soon!

Really cute… I loved your idea and your layout is adorable. My daughter usually has a 1/2 birthday party for our little Abby some time in June, since her birthday falls on December 21. It’s easy for her b/d to get mixed in with the Christmas holidays, although they try to make sure she has her own special day. This year, she whispered in her dad’s ear and asked if she could have a surprise party for her 1/2 b/d. Traditionally the last few years, we’ve had an old fashioned weiner roast the night off July 3rd, with s’mores and the works. She and her dad put a tent up in our back yard and she, her mom and dad sleep over in the tent. This year we are including the entire family. (Sorry this is long, got carried away)
