Incredible ~ Pinch Me

Incredible.  Is this really happening?  Pinch Me.  Where do I begin telling you about this incredible journey that started in March?  In March the Fiskars and Brains On Fire Family set out across the nation to search for four new members to add to the Fiskars family.  They headed to main metropolitan cities throughout the nation including L.A.  That’s where I met Holly (sweet as Southern pie), Geno (coolest dude you’ll meet) and Jennifer (fun).  I interviewed in March and by May we (the four Fiskars Sisters - Holly, May, Stephenie and I) were in Wisconsin meeting our new Fiskars (www.fiskars.com) and Brains on Fire (www.brainsonfire.com) family.  What a wonderful family they are too.  I love them all and love my Fiskars Sisters!  Our accomodations were wonderful.  They dined us and at some fun and unique places (a restored barn - fun for a California girl), a restored church now turned fine restaurant, and an Irish Grill.  Our time on Saturday and Sunday was filled with fun activities where we learned about the Fiskars company and they got to know us better as well.  You should have seen the room filled with fun Fiskars tools . . . it just made you want to scrap!  I loved learning about their heritage and getting to know some of the nicest people around.  They were so generous and just opened their arms to their new family members.  The Brains on Fire folks also didn’t forget that it was Mother’s Day and delivered a bouquet of flowers to us moms.  Both our Fiskars and BOF family thought of everything.  The weekend was a blast and fellowship awesome.  Throughout the weekend we were waiting for ‘the box’ that FedEx lost. From time to time we heard . . . “it’s in the box.”  By Monday morning we were so excited about this box arriving.  It did and it was jam packed full of more fun goodies.

They spoiled us rotten.  On Monday we attended the Fiskars Creative Academy.  I had a blast learning more about the company, it’s continued passion for quality, new products and plans, taking classes with Donna Downey (fun and sweet), meeting Heidi Grace (so bubbly), meeting some of their personnel from all over the world (The Ozzy man was great - G’day!), seeing the talent in the company and on and on.  Suzanne Fanning (Walker to the television world) did a great job organizing it and heading it up.  She is such a wonderful person on and off the screen.  On Monday night before heading home on Tuesday, some of the Fiskars staff and designers went out to dinner (including Donna).  We had fun just ‘hanging out.’ ~ Sweet Donna ~The staff at Fiskars are great! They were so generous in so many ways.  I have to admit though that one of my very favorite gifts were my famous “Orange handled Fiskars scissors” with Titanium Nitrade blades and by golly they had my name engraved on them.  I love my Fiskars scissors (as you can see).  Spike did a great job helping to organize travel and the whole weekend.  There is something to be said about those “Southern Gentlemen”.  It was an incredible weekend and this is an incredible journey.  Thanks friends for sharing it with me and always being such an encouragement.  So many blessings to count and not enough time . . . Pinch Me . . . is this real?

WOW!! What a great experience. The way you write about it, almost makes me feel the excitement, as if I was there also. EnjoY this time of your life. It goes by so quickly, but then we do have those scrappy memories.
